Physical Description: M'lon has green eyes and dark blonde hair. He keeps his hair short and slicked back with the use of grease. Dark blues and greens are his favored colors for tunics, with brown or black trousers. He is pretty average, standing at five feet, eleven inches, and weighing around 150 pounds.

Both of his hands are covered with small white scars from various tasks and injuries. On his left arm is a gash, mostly healed, from Threadfall. Creases around his mouth and eyes suggests that M'lon is a person who is used to laughing much and often.

Personality: M'lon is the stereotype of the "happy-go-lucky" dragonrider. He enjoys joking with his friends, but when there is work to be done he'll but his back into it and devote everything he has to the task at hand. The brownrider is not one to approve of laziness or procrastination - better to get the task done, as quickly as possible, so one can turn to more pleasurable activities.

Being a good listener, he is somebody that people take their problems to. This causes a whole other problem - to whom does he take his own problems? M'lon has learned to read body language so that he knows when somebody just wants a shoulder, or sympathy, or if they want his actual help out of a problem. Wisely, he does not force his advice onto people which keeps him endeared to his friends.

M'lon has known many casual relationships, but has not been able to take them past a few sevendays or even months. When a break-up in eminent, M'lon tries to make it as painless as possible for both sides, and has remained friends with the majority of his old lovers. He has no problem sleeping with women, and enjoys the time spent after a mating flight that Kanath has won. M'lon wants a relationship like his parents has, and still searches for the "right woman."

Background: Raised in the Weyr, Marenlon knew that becoming a dragonrider was his only goal in life. Both of his parents are riders, but his was not an unexpected birth resulting from a mating flight. Instead, both greenrider Leyna and brownrider B'nar planned for a child, and welcomed him into their weyr with open arms and hearts.

He was raised by his parents but also by the other people in the Weyr. Marenlon had a very happy childhood, especially when one looks at some of the Holds. He was taught honesty and integrity, honor and respect by his parents and their friends. Each of his scrapes and injuries were treated with the seriousness due a much larger wound, and he never felt the pain of a broken bone or fracture, although a sprained ankle seemed to haunt him as he and his friends raced around the Weyr. With his friends, Marenlon was not the leader. But then, there was no leader for the group. Friends did not need somebody to tell them what to do, to order them about.

Once he was twelve, it was no surprise to anybody that knew him that he presented himself as a Candidate to the Headwoman. The first hatching was not for nearly two months, and Marenlon haunted the Barracks and his parent's weyr during the period of waiting.

When the hatching finally came around, Marenlon nearly ran from the sands in fright. What if he didn't Impress? What if he did? Only the resolution that he would see the day through, and make his parents proud, brought his feet onto the hot sands. His heart was in his throat the entire time, and after the first few dragons hatched and chose their partners did he begin to relax. It would take a dimglow not to be relaxed and calmed by the happy atmosphere.

The brown - his brown - did not appear until near the end of the Hatching. Later, Marenlon would place the hatching with that of an harper's dramatic entrance. The young brown, still wet and dazed by the hatching took one look into Marenlon's eyes and raced towards the boy. When Kanath stumbled and would have fallen, M'lon was there to catch and reassure the dragonet. Weyrling training passed, with his parents and their dragons encouraging M'lon and Kanath as often as time would permit. When they were finally promoted to a "fighting" wing, M'lon could not recall being happier anytime in his life, except perhaps when he found Kanath.

Turns, decades, passed with nothing much of interest happening. Between Threadfalls, he made extra money by conveying people and Kanath kept the jokes about being a pack beast to a minimum. During one particularly nasty Threadfall, M'lon was one of the first to be injured. Unawares, he took an ugly-looking cut to his left arm, which is still healing although there is not much left to be healed. Luckily, Kanath was saved any injury.

M'lon and his parents followed Sierrata and J'syn to Dawn Meadows WeyrHold, and they were still with them when a new WeyrHold was found.

Dragon Name: Kanath
Age: 22
Riders age at Impression: 12
Color: Brown

Dragon Description: Kanath is a little larger than an average brown, but not by much and it's only noticable if him and another brown are completely standing side by side. His hide is a warm brown, no "off" shades that makes him look more bronze or anything of the sort; Kanath is a brown, and completely a brown. As of yet, he has no injuries and scars but this may (and more than likely will) change later into the Pass. He enjoys lying on the ledge of his Weyr, sunning himself throughout the day.

While he respects the golds and bronzes, Kanath does not have many dreams of actually catching a gold and to date has not participated in any gold flights. He much prefers the more sensual greens, and participates in the majority of the flights. Oddly enough, he seems to value his rider's opinion before joining in a flight, whereas many others join regardless of the rider's like or dislike of the greenrider.
