Physical Description: M'hodan is a stout 5'10, with peppered brown hair and a
developing girth in his old age. His brown eyes have lost most of their hue variety
but still hold an appearance of wisdom in their chocolate depths. His hands are calloused
and liverspotted. His left shoulder bears the white scars of a Score and is stiff with
age. Also, he limps, as his left leg also bears a Scoring.
Personality: M'hodan is quiet and contemplative, which naturally makes him a
mystery to others. His experience and levelheadedness, however, leads many to him for
advice, which he humbly accepts. In his youth, he held much passion for doing good in
the world but in his age, he bears great sadness for all the tragedies he has seen.
Still, he enjoys teaching youngsters, something that assuages the grief in his heart.
Background: Mirhodan was born of Mihangel and Rhiana, both deceased crafters
at Sunset Valley Hold. He spent his childhood at the Hold, learning little songs
from his mother until he could be apprenticed into the harpercraft at the age of
twelve. He planned full well to become a masterharper before a Search diverted
him of his dreams.
After Standing twice, Mirhodan walked away Impressed to blue Silvrath, and, at
nineteen, one of the oldest weyrlings. Once he finished weyrlinghood, he began
to play again with the harpers at night. For him, there were two loves and one
hatred - music, Silvrath and Thread. M'hodan enjoyed the new pace his life had
taken, though he wished he could devote more time to music.
It was Silvrath who introduced him to B'linar and green Aliralth, after winning
her flight. Originally, M'hodan wanted little to do with relationships but at
B'linar's insistence, he gave it a try. Unfortunately, things did not work out
but it set the stage for M'hodan to meet his lifemate H'dian later on.
By the time M'hodan was twenty-five, he had sired two children by female greenrider
flights. So when H'dian's Vreelanth rose, he expected no less than a one night stand.
He didn't, however, expect to fall in love with the spontaneous and effervescent
greenrider. M'hodan and H'dian became weyrmates a turn later and were inseparable
for nearly forty turns.
Tragedies always happened to M'hodan in threes. First, at twenty-eight, he was Scored
across his shoulder. Then, at thirty-six, another Scoring, this time across his leg.
Finally, at fifty-two, H'dian was lost in Fall. M'hodan tried valiantly to save his
weyrmate but the Scoring was too extensive. H'dian died that night.
For ten turns, M'hodan has mourned the loss of his soulmate and while Silvrath has
caught many other greens, M'hodan has never found one like H'dian. Disillusioned and
depressed, M'hodan was granted the Weyrsinger position at Fort in the hopes of reviving
him. Instead, after hearing about Dusk Forest Weyrhold, he decided to transfer there
in the attempt to start anew.
