Persona Name: L'can
Gender: Male
Sexual preference: Heterosexual
Persona Age: 43
Birthing date: M9, D13
Birthplace: the original Dusk Forest WeyrHold
Occupation and Rank: Brownrider
Persona Location: Dusk Forest WeyrHold
Owned By: Adoptable

Physical Description: With his blonde hair and large blue eyes, L'can has been considered a charmer and a flirt since he was old enough to understand what the words meant. He stands at five feet and seven and a half inches and weighs roughly a hundred and sixty pounds. He is strong and fit, without being overly (and uglily!) muscled.

L'can has been lucky during his life, sustaining very few injuries during Threadfall, and with only a small amount of those scarring. He has a scar on his left arm, and a few on his torso, but he wears them like badges, and they don't seem to hamper his attraction to females. Underneath his right eye is a small white scar, a birthmark. It is somewhat difficult to see, unless there is bright light or somebody is very close to his face, for the shadows cast by his face partially hides the mark.

The brownrider tends to wear riding leathers, the traditional dragonrider "uniform" most of the time. He feels it gives him an edge in making him look very professional, and he also believes that he looks very handsome in it (many of the Hold women believe it does, too). When not in the leathers, L'can tends towards whatever is comfortable and compliments him. He looks best in blue, a few shades deeper than the harper blue, and owns many tunics in this color.

Personality: L'can is a very focused individual. When there is something to be done, he allows nothing else to disturb him. He gives each task his full concentration and often does not hear people when they try to call to him. It doesn't matter the task - Threadfall flying or practice, peeling roots, or chasing a woman, L'can gives it his all.

He is very promiscuous, favoring a woman one night and an entirely different one the next. Only a few women have caught his heart long enough to keep his attentions for more than a few weeks, but there has never been any permanent loves. Not that he is really looking for one, though.

He has had many children, but doesn't pay too much attention to them other than making sure that they are being taken care of. After all, he is a dragonrider and could be killed in the next Fall - it is best for his children to be raised by loving parents, which he could not be. He is Alenth's rider first and a defender of his Weyr and Pern second. His duties do not allow for much parenting.

Background: Lerecan was born and raised at the original Dusk Forest WeyrHold by his foster mother, Luanne. His parents were dragonriders, and he the result of a mating flight, and neither had the inclination to raise him themselves. His mother, greenrider Taina, could have aborted him in between, but was encouraged to keep him to boost the Weyr's population.

His childhood was filled with love, and never once did he wish for any other mother than Luanne. She had other fosterlings, but was devoted to each of them and never played favorites. Luanne encouraged all of them to reach for the sky and never give anything other than their best efforts.

When Lerecan was twelve, he received permission from the Headwoman and Weyrleaders to stand on the sands. He failed to Impress, but Luanne encouraged him to never give up and to always reach for his goals. He was fifteen when Chelath appeared and changed his life forever. Weyrling training came and went, and when Chelath proved to be as amorous as his rider, life became veeeery good.

Surprisingly, most of his children have been born from greenriders, who have all ended up at the new WeyrHold. He is quite surprised that all of his children are still at Dusk Forest or it's Hold, Sunset Valley. That's when he actually notices, for a good half of his children have Impressed, and he considers them nothing more than fellow dragonriders.

Dragon Name: Chelath
Dragon Age: 15
Riders age at Impression: 28
Color: Blue

Dragon Description: Chelath is a decent sized brown and a strong flier. He is not the most agile of dragons, and could never hope to compete with a green, but his endurance and speed makes up for that. He tends to be the calmer of the two, and is just as caring with the rest of the wing as he is with his rider. Chelath is a good leader, capable of spotting when other dragons have begun to tire or strain themselves, and is the first to encourage them to leave the formation to rest. His mantra is "better no dragon, than a dragon too tired or hurt" and "a tired dragon hinders his wing, not helps."

He chases golds as well as greens, but to this date has never caught one of the queens. Perhaps just as well, for while L'can is decent in assisting the wingleader, he would not make the best Weyrleader. And, to be frank, neither of them wants such a responsibility. Chelath enjoys flirting with the female dragons, regardless of how close they are to mating. He also enjoys having another body next to him to share warmth with, and so encourages his rider to have a lover at all times.
