Physical Description: Daina has long bleached blonde hair, that's almost more white than blonde, and two largely round klah brown eyes. The greenrider's forehead is a bit high, and is splashed lightly with freckles. Set just below the forehead are two neat eyebrows, and a perfectly shaped nose. Daina's skin is very fair and pale, taking to burning easily in the Southern sun, and causing her to break out into freckles.

The woman is short and petite, only rising to the non-impressive height of 5'5", and weighing 135lbs, which she says in purely muscle. Daina dresses in riches browns and burgandy's that accent her straight hair and klah eyes. The dragonrider favors her riding boots, and many silver bracelets.

On rest days Daina prefers her flowing skirts and tunics (as is the Istan way) but when she is working she can be found in a pair of form fitting riding breeches and a clean but non decorated riding jerkin and jacket.

Personality: Daina may look like your typical greenrider but she definitely doesn't act like one. The greenrider stands out from the rest because of her holdbred ways that still shine through. Daina feels that only people that are truly in love should warm each other's beds, and so she detests mating flights and everything to do with them.

The searchrider keeps herself separated from the rest of the greenriders the Weyrhold and stays to herself. Daina doesn't flirt, or hop from bed to bed, and so has given many the impression of being stuck up or too good for everyone else. If it were not for Daina's dragon the woman probably wouldn't have a single friend at the Weyr.

Background: Daina was born at Ista Hold and there the customs and doings of a Hold were imprinted and instilled into her being at a young age. Daina can still remember the day when her mother told her that a Weyr or Weyrhold was a place that no respectable lady wanted to be caught at. It was Daina's father who instilled in her the bit of information that no respectable man wanted a woman who was unpure, and so she protected her virginity with all of her being.

Daina was the perfect daughter, apprenticing to become a healer, and working hard in the Hold to help it prosper. It was, however, on her seventeenth birthingday when she was to become a disgrace. A Searchrider showed up at the Istan Hold and whisked her away to Ista Weyr to there impress her lifemate Deliath.

Even though Daina could never imagine living without Deliath she still found herself feeling disgusted at living at the Weyr with all of it's flambouyant greenriders. Daina and Deliath passed through Weyrlinghood without a single pair of friends, because the pair kept to themselves (much to Deliath's protesting) and did their work.

Daina's first mating flight come and went. A brownrider she didn't even know stole from her her most preciously guarded treasure and never looked back. From that day foreward Daina always watched men with a careful eye, and never took the offers that men sent her way.

When Daina joined a fighting wing she once again took up the healing craft, learning from experience what thread could do to a dragon's hide she began specializing in the dragonhealing area. However, this too was taken from her when she realized that Deliath had a knack for picking out good candidates. For a while Daina was hestitant to go on Search because she remembered how aweful her parents acted towards her Searchrider and how they had disowned her when she impressed.

However, when Deliath picked out two girls that both impressed to greens, relieving them from an abusive father, Daina knew that she had found her calling. It was three turns later when Daina and Deliath heard about Dusk Forest Weyrhold and decided that a change of scenary and faces would be nice. The Searchriding pair transfered immediately.

Dragon Name: Deliath

Dragon Description: Deliath is a rich forest green, making her hide particularly shiny and sparkly in the fading rays of rukbat. The green dragon is unlike her rider in regards to the physical, being long, lean, and very large compared to most other greens. This gives Daina and Deliath another reason to stick out from the dainty, and flirtacious greens.

Deliath likes to make friends, pass gossip, and snuggle up to a male dragon, but even more she loves her rider, and so she keeps to herself. The green enjoyed her first mating flight but can still feel the pain that sometimes passes over her rider at the mere thought of it. Each time Deliath rises to mate it seems to hurt her rider even more, and so Deliath spends most of her time trying to cheer and please Daina.
