You have no heart!

What can I say? One has got to play some Hank or one is not truly from the south NOR truly educated! I just hope he's not rolling over in his grave. I've always liked country but it was NEVER quite rockin' enough for me...only Hank's lifestyle had that rock n' roll thang--
HE ROCKED.
So during the New South days, if we were gonna have to play covers, why not play some good ones our own way? I did this arrangement sometime before Christmas in the early 80's and I worked it out right before coming back to Meridian to visit. A couple of days after Christmas, I cut the first "version' of this at Aubrey Fulton's studio out in the country. Aubrey had played drums with Steve Forbert and Clay Barnes, my partner in this project. I was never quite satisfied with the guitar parts, but the idea was great so I decided to explore it further, until if finally kind of took on a life of it's own. When I was able to get James Edwards and Chris Ethridge to play on the record, I knew that it was going to really take shape and I'm quite please at how it turned out in the end.
