Wally Hopper
Rock Star

Starchild & Rock Star
I first saw Wally playing in a band called "Flyer" at Mama Leone's in Meridian. I was fourteen and all my friends would go there for the 5˘ drafts. I remember that he could sing like Robert Plant and play like John Bonham. In 1983, he showed up for a tryout with the Flashbacks. I didn't need to hear him play a lick--he was hired on the spot! We played together for a few wild years until he moved to Minneapolis to play the circuit up there. Sadly, I heard that he died and all I can say is that he is sorely missed.
Rest in Peace Rock Star...
