High Cost of Low Livin'

Billy McCorvey and I started this song when I came up with the title but we never got a chance to finish it. When I moved back to Meridian, I was hoping to write a whole record with all of the local acts putting in a song or two each but the only person who was motivated enough was Shawn Houser so we finished it. It's not the best song I've ever written and Shawn will be the first to tell you that it wasn't his best either but it was our first and AT LEAST we wrote it and very quickly at that. When we went into the studio we were having trouble getting everyone in for the basic tracks so I just messed around with it with the drummer. Shawn happened to be there, so he ended up doing the bass part without knowing it would be for real. But he ended up being the bass player on the tracks by default. We did the basic tracks and by the time I could get James to play on it, it was too late to change it so I just wrote the rest of the song around the basic tracks to make it fit. I like the idea and think the song could be better but it is what it is and it is ART. A song I wrote, I did, I did.
