Bill & Pat Forrester
J.W. Forrester's Bar

When I first moved to Oxford and was moving into my apartment, Bill & Pat were coming home from their honeymoon and just happened to have lived right across the breezeway.  Bill & Pat were the Owners of Forrester's Bar and that became my second home.  I was the first musician to ever play their and Bill eventually put in a stage for my band to play at the back of the bar.  We had some times. I used to host a hootenanny there and was lucky to play with many good friends there.  After 5 years of living across from each other we got to know each other pretty good.  We had the Sunday Night Supper Club for years.  Pat would cook, then I would cook, then Bill would cook.  Lots of Stroh's and our experiments in ceramics with the occasional trips to Memphis for jugs made for some interesting nights.  They still own their bar in Oxford and I hope to play there again sometime soon.
