The Rules of Attraction
Paul
9 out of 10 Durkies
This movie isn't for everyone.  I heard a person coming out of the movie theater telling her boyfriend that it was the worst movie ever.  I reserve such a worthy title for movies like "Eye of the Beholder," and the "Royal Tenenbaums."  That being said, "Rules" kicked ass in my mind.

The story revolves around three students (Sean, Paul and Lauren) at a preppy college in New England.  They all live in a dorm where everyone is partying all the time and drugs and alcohol flow freely in the dorm hallways.

The cinematography was pretty interesting because the movie will show you a scene from one perspective, reverse the acting, then shoot the film from another persepective.  Very interesting stuff.

The acting by the three main characters was very impressive because they all have mental problems that the actors portray with great convincability.  The reactions seemed real to me when so often the dialogue in movies is too Hollywood.

One last note, the movie is pretty graphic and touches on some subjects that people might not be comfortable with.  I forewarn you that there are some gay scenes that some people in the audience were uncomfortable with.  In contrast, Joe was alright with these scenes.

I apoligize for writing such a long review but I felt it necessary to justify my suggestion of 9 out of 10 Durkies.  If you watch this movie and don't like it, then I also apoligize.
Joe
7 out of 10 Sandzies

What can I say about this movie. It made no sense, I had no clue what the point of it was, and I didn't relate to it at all. But, for some reason, I kinda liked this movie. It thought it was made really well, or at least differently.

The movie was all about college students taking drugs and having sex. It showed 3 different peoples attraction to 3 other people, who they couldn't have. Anyway, we all left the theatre asking each other if they got the movie, and none of us really did. But because of how it was made, and the craziness of the movie, it really entertained us. So overall, i would give it 7 Sandzies.

Confusing 7.5 Stars

Let me just start off by saying that this is one weird ass movie.  Let's just say that if you like scenes of two gay guys practically getting it on, or another scene of a bare ass dude, then this is the movie for you.  Maybe that is why Joe and Paul rated it so high.  After all they are the ones who suggested that we see it.

It is a pretty good movie though, I must admitt.  It has plenty of drugs, naked girls (for those of us unlike Joe and Paul who prefer women to men (although, there is nothing wrong with liking men, just ask Joe or Paul)).  It will make you laugh, it will make you cry (if you're gay), and it may not make you hurl, but it will make you pretty sick during a couple parts if you are like me and don't like to see people slitting their wrists.

Overall, the movie keeps you entertained until the end, but that's the thing, there really is no end.  So maybe I am still entertained right now... Or maybe I am pissed off by now because I am realizing that there is actually no end at all.  Damn it Dawson, why did you have to do it with her roommate!!  You were in, then you (bleeped) it up!  Well, I guess I give this movie a confused 7.5.  I think it was really good, but I also think that it sucked.. I'm confused.  Did I mention the main gay character is named Paul?  Wow, what a weird coincidence huh Paul?
