In Memoriam
This page is dedicated to my sister, Marcia Maxine Myatt Coffman, who passed away April 26, 2002 of breast cancer. She was not only beautiful on the outside, she was beautiful on the inside.  She is deeply missed by all.

You Live In Hearts You Left Behind
My sister was known as Marcy to most people.  Family members called her Mackie.  She was the most loving and caring of people. She was never selfish and never mean-spirited, even to those who may not have treated her kindly.

She especially enjoyed the Christmas holiday which gave her the opportunity to prepare a special feast for her children, grandchildren and friends.  Every room in her home was filled with tasteful Christmas decorations during the season. It was well-known that during the holiday season she would have large stores of homemade fudge, divinity, cookies and cakes readily available for the little ones and big ones alike.

She was instinctively creative, teaching herself to sew, crochet and cross-stitch. She created not only home decor items for herself, but family members and friends as well,  always giving them as gifts.  She created a beautfully decorated home, inside and out, which would have honored any home design magazine.

Among her special talents was stitching heirloom cross stitch samplers.  She recognized her ancestresses by creating individual samplers honoring each one of them, going back 3 generations of the  families of Ogle, Goff and Milam. She passed the art of needlework down to me, her younger sister,  and I hope to continue the art and honor my sister's memory by teaching my own daughters to stitch, as well.  It goes without saying that a special sampler will be stitched in honor of Marcy and future family generations will be taught about the great woman she was.

The love of her life was her husband, L.C. "Mike" Coffman.  He stood by her side through 16 years of fighting breast cancer, and never, ever let her fight alone.   He brought her true happiness, giving her unconditional love and support.  He is a most honorable, kind and loving man that the Myatt, Durham  and McCormick families are proud to claim.
