OF
Don't think of her as gone away,
Her journey has just begun.
Life holds so many facets,
this earth is only one.

Just think of her as resting
from the sorrows and the tears,
in a place of warmth and comfort,
where there are no days and years.

Think of how she must be wishing
that we could know today,
how nothing but our sadness can
really pass away.

And think of her as living
in the hearts of those she touched,
for nothing loved is ever lost
when she was loved so much.
They were angels in waiting.
Waiting for wings to fly from this world,
Away from their pain
Treasuring time, till time came to leave,
Leaving behind sweet memories.
"Memories keep the one you loved
close to you in spirit and thought
and always in your heart
today and forever"
Although I was her "Aunt" she would introduce me as her "sister". We even cut our thumbs and tied them together so we would be "blood" sisters. She was my first friend, my twin soul. I was always the nurturing one, she was always the lost little doe. Her Mom, my sister, and her Dad divorced when she was little. Her Daddy was given custody of her.  She grew up so fast, cooking and cleaning.  She was raised mostly by her Daddy.  However there were times in her life when she was shifted around from one family member to another.  How hard that was for her.  How hard it is for us to look back on that now.
Durese and I were raised in Sugar Creek, Mo. She lived four blocks away, so we were together constantly. In the summer she stayed at our house for days on end. Summer's spent swimming and playing in the woods.  I was born in 1959 and she in 1961. Summer nights growing up listening to Peter Frampton, Heart and Fleetwood Mac.  Days of Jackson Browne, Ian Matthews, Pure Prairie League and the Steve Miller Band. And free falling with Tom Petty.  What sweet memories.............
