| 25 shows in 28 Days Superheroes, Psychological Thrillers, Comedy, Classics and Musicals, Musicals, Musicals With a thunderous roar, the speed of a runaway locomotive and a hearty "Hi-Ho-Festival," The Midtown International Theatre Fest prepares to once again gallop across the New York stage, bringing any and all theatrical competition to its knees. Running July 8th - August 4th, the Third Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival, located deep within the recesses of Raw Space, will present a veritable plethora of productions, ranging from musical dramas to outlandish satire to classic works by the Christophers - Marlowe and Durang. The MITF is the brainchild of the mild mannered John Chatterton - owner/publisher of oobr, the off-off-broadway review. A man of vision, he has long known the powerhouse Off-Off-Broadway can become and has happily begun the process of once more unleashing his dreams upon an eagerly awaiting public. "Our emphasis is on new musicals this year," Chatterton explained. "And indeed we have several of them. But the main purpose of the Festival is to put on works of all types that otherwise might never have the chance to be properly appreciated. And that's what we will continue to do." "We've learned a lot over the last two years," Chatterton noted. "And this year, I really think we'll be better than ever." |
