| Disney's Animal Kingdom is a great park. This is one park you will want to get to early. The park closes at 5:00pm and there are no early-open days. There are two ways to get into the park. The first is to go in the main entrence, but I like to go through the "Rain Forest Cafe". You go into the Cafe to the court-yard in the back and you will find a small gate that takes you right into the park. I always go to the back of the park and work my way back to the entrance. For first time visitors head to Africa first and go on "Kilimanjaro Safaris" first because the line gets long by mid-day. After you have explored Africia head for Asia. Asia is the best land in the park. I would ride Kali River Rapids if it is hot outside. "Kali River Rapids" is a great ride but the line is huge so I would get a fast-pass for this ride. Make sure to pack an extra pair of cloths because you will get soaked. If you dont pack cloths you can by a $15 shirt and $20 pair of shorts or a $30-$40 towel. The "Maharajah Jungle Treck" is another way to dry off. The treck is a very long walk through a jungle filled with animals to see and take pictures of (make sure to stop in the bat house). After seeing all Asia has to offer stop by Discovery Island which features "It's Tough To Be A Bug" a funny indoor 3-D film hosted by Flick from "A Bugs Life" (even though some little ones liked "A Bugs Life" this ride may scare some). Dinoland U.S.A. is home of "Dinosuar" a thrilling ride (for a less turbulent ride ask for a middle seat in the front.) Camp Minnie-Mickey is a great place for young ones for them to meet their favorite character. It is hard to see this park in one day so I suggest that you go to the AK until noon and then visit a water park and finish it anothe day. Also almost all of the rides and shows are outside so it gets very hot and water is about $2.00-$3.00 a bottle. You can drink the fountain water but it is really bad tasting because it is Florida water. A good place to eat is the Tusker House in Harambe Village. |
