To: Americans, Canadians & Hotel Managers in the Surabaya

Consular District

From: John Bernlohr, US Consulate General Surabaya

US Consulate General Surabaya [email protected]

We request your assistance in disseminating this message as soon as possible to the Americans and Canadians in your area. We ask that hotel managers pass this information on to your American and Canadian hotel guests.

We are exploring the option of chartering an aircraft no sooner than May 18 and no later than May 19 for Americans and Canadians and their dependents (immediate family members) who wish to get out of Indonesia, leaving from Juanda Airport in Surabaya. We are told that the charter flight would either go to Singapore or Bangkok - we do not yet know which of the two it will be. We need to know how many people want to leave Surabaya on these dates to determine whether demand for a charter flight is sufficient and what seating-capacity is required.

Each passenger is responsible for paying required departure taxes and the fare for the charter flight. We do not yet know the exact cost of the flight, but we are told that it will be within the range of prevailing commercial rates. Passengers will be allowed to bring one piece of luggage and one carry-on bag. Each passenger will be responsible for finding accommodations in Singapore or Bangkok and for making onward flight arrangements.

Please send to the American Consulate General as soon as possible the names, nationality (e.g. Can, USA), passport numbers, and dates of birth, and telephone number(s) of all passengers who would take this charter flight. Once again, this information is for planning purposes. We would provide details once we have an estimate of the number of passengers and a decision that a flight will be scheduled. Please

Send this information via e-mail or fax (031-567-4492).
