My First Impression of Trigun

THE SHOW
Okay, so it's been a while since I first watched Trigun, almost six months actually. That's counting from the last episode, not the first. However, I felt that I should write them down first, because it'll be very helpful once I get into talking about the actual episodes.

When I first began watching Trigun, we (my friend and I) saw the first four episodes in English. I don't recommend watching it that way, it's much better in Japanese. So, I watched them again in Japanese, and LOVED it. I thought, yippie, this is going to be a light-hearted funny show, that has ton of personality. However, I was so very wrong about it being light-hearted and funny. Once the plot began to unfold, I was shocked by how much depth was present and how sad and lonely the story was becoming. The characters were developed so well, that I instantly latched onto both Vash and Nicholas. You wanted these two to get along, and you really, really, really wanted more information about things within the story. Such as, what the heck is a plant!?! Also, where did Vash and Knives come from, and why--okay you get the point. There is a very long line of questions that i have for this show, but I'm not going to waste space listing them. As the show progressed to the finally, my heart was no longer in it. Nicholas had died in episode 23. He had become my favorite character, and I was wishing that Milly would get left behind in the desert, and well, you can guess the consequences of that action. :::vicious grin:::

THE MUSIC
Okay, you cannot talk about this show without mentioning this. The music set the tone for the whole series. It was western-style and very very lonely sounding. Once I get into a Trigun mood, I can't stop listening to the music, and when the cd gets to Paradise I start to bawl. So, the effects of the series stays with you, and the music only helps to underline the fact that once you watch the series, it'll never leave you and you just can't help but go back for more, and more, and more, and more, and more.....okay maybe that's just me :)-.
