Meryl Stryfe
Meryl is the eldest of the two "insurance girls." She's also the bossy one. She enjoys hitting Vash over the head, probably because he won't act like an adult while around her. Actually, Meryl's kind of a sad and lonely person. She's married to her job, and doesn't seem to think about anything else but doing her job. She took the assignment of finding Vash the Stampede because no one else wanted it, and then she spent the next three months of her life trying to track down Vash, which proves that she is very dedicated to her job.
Unlike Milly, Meryl only sees the surface of things, thus the reason she couldn't figure out that the goofy blonde in the red coat was Vash the Stampede. Throughout the show Meryl stays pretty much the same. She's loud and bossy in the beginning, and that's the way she is in the end, a little more subdued though. She has a very hard time accepting people as being more than their face value, note the fact that it takes her forever to accept the fact that Vash isn't a dummy, but a highly intelligent person and a highly skilled gunsman.
She hints toward the end of the show that she loves Vash, and according to the last episode she's going to tell him when he comes back from fighting Knives. My personal bet is that she doesn't tell him, and if she does, he was shocked, and calmly explained to her exactly what he is and that at that moment, he really couldn't have a relationship because he was going to be too busy trying to heal the world. But have no fear Meryl fans, I'm sure she eventually found happiness--I hope...
