Title:Arogant Hearts Athor:Ethereal Warnings: Yaoi, RAPE, angust, sap Disclamer:don't own it or any money Archive:sure but please tell me first, my e-mail is [email protected] PART 1 Vegeta lay on a carpet of green grass alone, always alone. The image of his angry son still fresh in his mind, his eyes were blurred by a torturing picture of his rival, and his love. The fool didn't even know it, he didn't see it and never would, but then again how could he expect that low class baka to see what his heart would barley emit. Vegeta laughed, an insane crackle of hopelessness, "Who am I to call him a fool? Aren't I the bigger fool for loving him." The image of the saiyan had floated in Vegeta's vision for some time now, but it was his son's words that had brought him to this place. Trunks was right, he was nothing more than a burden to his son. It was better this way. With a last look at the only place he'd been able to call home sense Freaza stole him away from his father. He got up and with a sigh climbed into the space ship he'd taken from Capsule Corp. He was sure they'd miss it more then they would him. He blasted off not looking back. As his ship slowly drew away from Earth he sent his son one final unspoken thought. Good by my son, know that I loved you and that I am proud of you. Have a good life and forgive me and then forget me. Then he fell into a deep sleep with images of Kakorot haunting his dreams. "Ah come on can't I please have it I'm starving here!" "Onistly Goku how could you be starving? You've already had 3 stacks, 5 bowls of rice and 2 bowls of soup!" "Well if you're not going to eat it why not?" Chichi growled, "Goku you are becoming a couch potato! Alls you ever do is eat and sleep and than eat some more. Well I will not have my husband becoming a fat lazy geezer! Starting tomorrow your going on a diet with no junk food and if you don't I'm never cooking you another meal again!" Goku reared back, accidentally crushing the chair he was in to splinters. He ended up siting on the ground unsure of what had just happened. "But Chichi I train daily with the others. I mean I'm the strongest man on Earth or at least close to it." He looked over at his son who now stood in the door way frozen in fear of getting involved in this. "Hanging out with your bang is not considered dieting! After today I want you up bright and early each day and burning pounds got it?" Goku nodded in defeat. Chichi was far from a good cook but he was disparate. He didn't know how hed tell Vegeta though. He didn't think Vegeta would care but Goku treasured their daily sparing matches. Maybe Chichi would let him go with Vegeta in the evening. Goku flew off hiding his sadness from his son and his wife. He'd always looked forward to seeing the hotheaded Saiyan each day; this may be his last. Sparing had always given him a reason to be with Vegeta and he didn't think the other Saiyan would be interested in late night talks. Hed have to make this session really count. "Hey Trunks what's wrong?" Trunks spun to meat the voices owner, he seemed vary up tight, "Oh hi Goku sorry, someone stole one of our ships last night. My moms going crazy!" Goku put his hand behind his head in his well know gesture, "Jez that's to bad I hope who ever took it knows how to fly it, those things can be pretty dangerous can't they?" "Yes Goku." Trunks settled his eyes back to the paper he was reading. "Hey have you seen Vegeta around here. He's late for training." Trunks looked up, "I thought you were training at your place today." Goku scratched his head, 'Well he said he wanted to train with the gravity chamber so we decided to meet here today. Ya think he might have forgotten?" Trunks shrugged, "You never know with my father." Goku sighed, "Well thanks Trunks I think I'll go check back at my house see if hes there." Trunks gave a slight nod already indulged in his work again. Goku flew off to continue his search. Vegeta had long sense lost track of time. It could have been hours or days or maybe only minutes. He didn't know nor did he care. The ship had gone on auto pilot, Vegeta's destination was unknown, he knew only his sorrow. "I wonder if the boy has discovered me missing yet? He is a strong lad, he'll be fine." "We will be landing on planets surface in 30 minutes, please prepare." The ship computers electronic voice brought him back from memories of his son. Seating himself in a chair and strapping himself in he took a glance at the planet now in view. "The Namics' new home is it? That may very well be a good place to start over." In the past he had done terrible things to the people of Namic even by his standards so he didn't expect nor want them to welcome him. The planet it self brought back to many memories as it was. True it wasn't the original Namic but the resemblance was shocking. Save from having one less sun in the sky a lazy eye wouldn't see the difference. This was as good a place as any to be alone with his thoughts. "I lived my whole life alone until that cursed fool Kakorot came bragging into it, I can do it again." Goku flew on, it was know 5:30 p.m. and still no sign of Vegeta. At noon Trunks had given up on the ship and started a search for his father as well. He was covering the eastern part of the world and Goku had taken the western. It wasn't unlike Vegeta to go off on his own for long periods of time but in the past Goku had always been able to sense his ki, even when Vegeta tried to hide it. Ether Vegeta had suddenly gotten A LOT better at hiding himself or he was off planet. There was another possible reason too; Goku shivered at the thought, no Vegeta just had to be all right he just had to. Goku powered up in a blast of speed, he had to find him now. If Vegeta got hurt hed never forgive himself. There was one last place he knew to look, a place hed sat and watched Vegeta for hours at a time. Watched as Vegeta sat staring up into nothingness, unaware of Goku's presence. If Vegeta had gone anywhere to be alone it would be there. Vegeta stood scanning the horizon. It was so different from Earth. Why he'd spent so much time there he'd forgotten what other planets were like. For one Namic was much hotter then Earth. Though this Namic had only two suns rather then three they were placed in a way that when one sun set the other was rising on the far horizon. Because of this Namic never had a chance to cool in between sunsets. Also the gravity here was ten times that of Earth. On the Saiya the gravity was 20 times. It was a large part of why the Saiyans were born natural fighters. 10 times gravity was nothing Vegeta couldn't handle. It just felt, strange foreign in a way. Vegeta could sense some low power levels moving in his direction, most likely Namics who'd spotted his ship. He wasn't ready to face them, not yet any ways. Pushing his power level down so as not to be detected, he secured his ship then went in such of a place to make camp. Namic was a fruitful land and before long he found a place suited for his needs. Settling down he set aglow a ball of energy to act his fire. Then he gazed up at his former home. But it was not in the direction of the demolished Saiya that he looked, but towards Earth and Kakorot. "Vegeta!" Goku's voice range through the valley before the echo of his last call had died down. Hed searched the valley twice up and down in flight. He now walked it. A little ways ahead he could see the larger apple tree he knew so well. The hole a baby Gohan had once punched though it to save his life still just as big as ever. That was the first time Goku had seen his sons hidden power. Strange that Vegeta had chosen this tree to spend countless hours to him self-thinking. Goku could see the indentation in the grass were Vegeta sat. He could almost picture Vegeta siting there, staring up into space with such a questioning look on his face. Goku couldn't help but smile at the thought of it. Then he noticed something behind the tree, a singed spot in the grass he recognized to well. His smiled quickly turned to a horrified gasp. He raced over to the spot, praying he was wrong. Yet as he got closer he knew, it was the mark of were a ship had taken off. His eyes suddenly welled up with tears. "Vegeta no, no please no. Why, why would he leave me, I loved him. Goku feel to his knees, suddenly unable to hold himself up. "No Vegeta no don't leave me, you're the only one who understands me. No please" His fists hit the ground and it cracked under the pressure, yet he was the weakest man in the world. "What did I do? What did I do? Vegeta I'm so sorry, I'm so so sorry." Falling to the ground he wept, for hours or minutes or days he wept. It didn't mater; hed lost all that mattered. Circling up in a ball he sniffed. "How could I have thought that a prince like him would care for a low class fighter like me. I'm a baka; a dammed baka and I'll make sure I never cause him trouble again. Vegeta raced after the image he'd seen. He must be going mad, Kakorot couldn 't be on Namic. Yet every few turns he made he could see the familiar form that belonged to no one but Kakorot. "Kakorot you tailless baka wait!" Kakorot just laughed, "If you want me you'll have to catch me first." "Dam you! I'm not going to play your foolish game." Vegeta powered up to SSJ level 3 and easily caught up to Kakorot tackling him. "Kakorot smiled, "OK you caught me little man, now you're going to get it." Kakorot powered up to SSJ level 4 and flipped Vegeta so that he was on the ground. "Little man!? What do you think you're doing." Kakorot smiled curly then pinned Vegeta's arms to his sides. Bearing his teeth he dodge into Vegeta's chest. He twisted his arms until they snapped causing Vegeta to scream out in pain. "Kakorot no no." Kakorot only smiled, and began tarring his close from his body. Vegeta was exposed, helpless, why would Kakorot do this? How could he? Kakorot took a strip from the rags that had been Vegeta's paints and tied it in a slit knot. Then he strung it around Vegeta's neck and pulled. Vegeta gasped, his body quickly going numb, becoming useless from lack of air. But his capture would not let him faint. No Vegeta would suffer as he had suffered and through Vegeta he would finally have his revenge. Kakorot smiled hungrily, "Well look at the mighty prince now." And then he dug in and Vegeta couldn't move a mussel in defense. Silent tires dripped down his face. Why? Why would he do this? After what seemed like an eternity Kakorot flew off laughing. Vegeta lay there. He knew he was dying but didn't care. Hed been betrayed by one of the few people hed ever loved. Now there was nothing for him in this world, nothing at all. Trunks flew as fast as his power would let him. His every instinct screamed that something was terribly wrong. Hed been flying along searching when Goku 's ki had suddenly vanished form his mind. He now raced to the spot he'd last felt it, hopping Goku would still be close by. The land changed as he continued on, going from the cold slowly plans to rugged mountains to ocean and finally to rolling hills patched with grassy meadows. He could barley feel Goku's ki a little ways ahead though it was faint. Either Goku was hiding his ki or he was very badly hurt. A familiar shape lay in the meadow ahead. Trunks dove down as fast as he could. When he landed Goku didn't move. "Goku?" Trunks' voice was soft. No answer came. Trunks knelt down beside Goku, nudging him. Goku groaned, "Oh Vegeta why? Why did you do it." "Trunks rolled Goku over. ""What did my father do Goku? Come on I need to know." "Goku opened his eyes. Trunks looked so much like his father. And though Vegeta would never emit it he was a lot like his father as well. "He left Trunks. He took that ship and left." If Trunks hadn't already been siting on the ground he was sure he would have clasped at that news. "Oh no father, you arrogate baka. Don't you know what you've done!" Goku only shook his head; "We have no right to hold him here. It's his choice if he wants to leave it his right." Goku's words were hollow, they held no feeling. "Like hell he dos! I'm going after him and you are coming with me." With that he garbed Goku who had nether the will nor the care to resist and flew of to capsule Corp. "All the ships are preprogrammed to go to Namic, we'll start there." He could have been talking to himself with the amount of response Goku gave him. He couldn't blame him. Hed had his suspicions about Goku and Vegeta from the beginning; this proved they were correct. His father didn't know how much he was cared for. But for all their sacks he had to find him. "I swear to you Goku I'll find him. I won't let my father slip away from us, not now and not ever." "Ah Dame! Why won't they just let me die." Vegeta woke to find him self all to alive and in extreme pain. He was alone as always but in a warm and soft bed rather then hard damp ground. Someone had moved him here. So someone had to be close. Getting up he tested his legs. He should be able to walk. He couldn't deal with anyone now. He snuck out of the Namic stile hut and took off. Had it been some kind of crazy nightmare. It had to be real; otherwise his body wouldn't be in such a damn mess. Why had Kakorot done it though? It wasn't like him at all. It didn't matter now, nothing mattered. Vegeta stopped in his flight, he sensed Namics ahead. Though he could easily defend himself against them he made sure to stay clear. The Namics knew he was here now. He didn't understand why they'd helped him. He wished the fools would leave him alone. He wished everyone would just leave him alone! He flew wide around the Namics and then on in the direction of the ship. As soon as he reached it he wasted no time, entering he punched in random coordinates and blasted off. A little ways a way a pair of Saiyan eyes watch the ship take off. The Saiyan smiled, his game had only began. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN GOKU'S NOT ON EARTH!?" the room shook at Chichi's roar. Krillen held up his hands to protect himself. He still wasn't sure how he'd gotten into this. They were all sopost to confront Chichi together. "Chichi he had to go find Vegeta, he shouldn't be gone to long." "He shouldn't be gone at all! Especially to go look for that man. I'm glad he disappeared, he was nothing but trouble and Goku should know it!" Onistly Krillen had to agree, Vegeta was trouble, but Trunks wasn't that bad and the poor kid really missed his father. Krillen still didn't know why Goku had gone though. You owe me big time Goku. "He was sopost to go on a diet today. I bet he went just to get out of it!" She stomped past Krillen and outside. "Goku you get your but out of hiding and go on a diet!" she shouted up at the sky. Krillen sighed, this was going to take a very long time. Goku sat staring off into space. He was glad they were going to find Vegeta. At the same time he felt guilty. The Saiyan prince had made it clear he didn't want Goku around, but Goku couldn't help but want to go after him. Besides, he though with a smile, even if I didn't want to Trunks would have dragged me along anyhow. The young man had been very persistent. For his sake Goku had remained cheerful. Trunks didn't need any more downfalls. If he were to look closer he'' see the truth. Goku was torn, torn in every way a man could be torn. But he also knew Vegeta had full-heatedly loved Trunks. So for his love he would protect the boy from his sadness. Trunks had plenty to deal with as it was. Goku didn't know how he would approach Vegeta now that he knew he didn't feel towards Goku what Goku did towards Vegeta. He respected Vegeta with all his heart, if Vegeta wanted to be alone he should let him. But both his heart and Trunks would have none of that. "Goku we're coming up on Namic." "Goku muttered in answer, worrying Trunks. His usual careful talkative self no were in sight. The whole trip a muter was the only thing Trunks had gotten. The new Namic now stood in full view. Goku grunted, he had a feeling he wasn't going to enjoy this. "He's here!" Trunks didn't even try to hide his excitement. The chance of him being on Namic was so small, he hadn't dared hope. But now he should see his father before sundown. The Namic shook his head. "I'm sorry, he was here but now hes nowhere to be found. We believe he's off planet." "Damn it!! And you have no idea were he is now?" Goku laid a tired sad hand on Trunks shoulder. He knew just how the boy felt. "We'll move on in the morning Trunks, I know your father would kill me if you didn't take good care of yourself." Trunks smiled sadly and nodded, "Ya I guess your right, I never thought I'd miss him this much. Goku nodded sadly, "I know just how you feel." Trunks poked at there tiny little fire with a stick. Goku had gone to get some water and a fish from a near by stream. Staring into the flames Trunks couldn't help but see his father dancing among them. It was the only thing he'd thought about sance he heard of his father was goon. They'd never gone camping together, why the most they'd ever done was spar. He'd have to find some way to get his father to go camping with them sometime. That is if they ever found his father. If he was felling this bad he couldn't even began to imagine how Goku felt. It was obvious how much he cared for Vegeta though Vegeta was a little harder to read. Trunks had spent enough time around his father to see it though. His feelings for Goku were as plain as day to Trunks. He wondered why the two them selves hadn't seen it in the other. He didn't want Goku to find out from him though, only Vegeta had that right. So hed just HAVE to find his father, there was no question about it. Trunks suddenly sprang to his feet. Oh no not again. Goku's ki had just sky rocketed meaning something was wrong. There were few people (namely Vegeta, Gohan, and Trunks himself) that could make Goku go to his maximum to defend himself. Was his father here and if so then why would he attack Goku? Trunks powered up and sped off as fast as he could. Soon he came upon the seen of two Saiyan, both at SSJ level 2 fighting it out. Vegeta floated above the fiery surface of the uninhabited planet. Why? Why was this getting to him so much? He'd been betrayed before but never had it bothered him so much. True he'd loved Kakorot, but he'd loved his father to and had been able to recover from that. He'd always been able to jump back up when he took a hit, no matter what he'd never quit. So why, why couldn't he get over this. Kakorot hated him, it was more than apparent. They were meant to be enemies, rivals. They could never be anything else. Vegeta smiled sadly, "then why can't I stop loving you you blasted baka." Then he started back towards his ship alone, always alone. |
