| 'PRIDE" Written by PFC Prestidge I am a Marine,,, Serving proudly, standing tall I fight for FREEDOM, yours and mine by answering to this call I do my job knowing it might not be noticed, but, all it takes is prayer to keep me focused. My family is very loving and I have now been sent to war, though they should not be worried 'cause I will once again be at their front door. To all American people, I am here to fight, not for what's wrong, only for what's right. I am here to bleed for you so that we can continue to fly the colors, red, white and blue. I would like everyone to share in this poem and remember that you will remain safe in your homes. PFC Prestidge was deployed to Kuwait in January and is now serving our country in Iraq with the recon unit with India Company, 3rd Battallion, 4th Marines, 2nd Platoon. When he returns to the United States he will return to Twenty Nine Palms, California to continue his schooling. PFC Prestidge's proud parents are Dr. and Mrs. D. Joshua Prestidge of Crystal River, his grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Albert J. Mallett of Homasassa. He has four brothers, Nathaniel of Homasassa, Adam (wife Caroline) two sons, Tyler and Noah of Crystal River, Joshua of Crystal River and Jerry Bradford of Largo, FL. He is a 1999 graduate of Crystal River High School. As his family, we are extremely proud that Matthew has chosen to protect our freedom and pray for his safe return as well as all the other military serving our country. His loving parents. |
