The Outcomes

Player of the Game: Rick Breton - 3 hits

It was the first game of the season and neither team really got going. A very low scoring game for two B league teams.

April 24th

Four Corners - 23

Dunkin Donuts - 36

Player of the Game: Mike Dalenta - 4 hits - 2HR

Easily the biggest comeback of the short 3 year tenure of the Donuts. With pitcher Rick Breton out for the game, son Tyler Breton had to step in with little expierience to get the job done. After two innings of work, the Donuts were down 14-1. Things were not looking good until newcomer Tony Calabrese stepped in to pitch for the first time in his life. He came up big and absolutly shut the door on Four Corners. The Donuts rallied in the 5th, 6th, and 7th innings batting around in each inning. Tyler Breton went yard in the 7th, while brother Mike Dalenta and Wally Dalenta went back to back in the 9th inning, capping Wally's cycle.

May 4th

Dunkin Donuts - 9

Poulin Enterprises - 10

Player of the Game: Mike Dalenta - 3 hits

In a 10 inning game, the two youngest and probably most athletic teams could not hit the ball all game long. It took 10 innings to settle this one, where Poulin hit a infield single with bases loaded and 2 outs to win the game.

May 8th

Dunkin Donuts - 39

Sun Capsule - 23

Player of the Game: Tony Calabrese - 8-8 - 3 HR

It was the first game on the small field for the Donuts, and they showed thier power and skills. Calabrese went yard 3 times in this game, along with an 8-8 showing. Tyler also went yard 2x along with, Dalenta, Gates, and Rick. It was the first time the Donuts ever used all 7 home runs, and this time they actually hit 8, 1 for an out. Tyler Breton also chipped in with 7 hits in this game.

May 15th

Dunkin Donuts - 35

Longview RV - 18

Player of the Game: Tony Calabrese - 7-7 - 3HR

Another easy win for the Donuts here. It was the first time all season where they started off hot from the first inning on. The game was lengthened by 2 short rain delays and there were a few innings were everyone was poured on in the field. Nothing stopped the Donuts though putting up another big B league win. Calabrese kept his streak alive going 7-7 this game with another 3 home runs. He is now 15 for his last 15 with 6 home runs. Gates also went 7-7 this game, while Kilty chipped in with 6 of his own.

May 21st

Reils Rentals - 11

Dunkin Donuts - 13

Player of the Game: Ryan Kilty - 4-5 - HR, Triple, 2 Doubles

Another low scoring game for the Donuts, but luckily they pulled this one off. The bats just didnt click for them, and defense was sub-par. Kilty led the offense with 4 hits including a triple and a home run, while Rick and Tyler also homered. Hanjack made his debut of the season going 2-4 with a double and a home run. The play of the game came from TJ Furey legging out a triple for the first time in over a year!

May 25th

Salty Dog - 8

Dunkin Donuts - 35

Player of the Game: Karl Gates - 5-5 - HR, 2 Doubles - 4 Runs Scored

The Donuts put up 35 runs in only 6 innings worth of at bats, scoring atleast 1 run per inning. They started hot by scoring 5 runs in each of the first two innings, then another 10 in the 4th, and another 11 in the 6th to put the game out of reach. Salty Dog was the defending champs from last year in the B division and now are in the A division. They beat the Donuts in a best 2 of 3 series last year. This is a different year though with the Donuts finally having their full team together for the first time all year. Tyler Breton started things off with a great catch crashing into the fence in the first inning. After getting injured on the play, he was not able to play defense anymore. He then went on to getting 4 hits, including two towering home runs. Karl Gates also went 5-5 with a home run, while Ryan Aiken in his debut of the year, hit a grand slam to put the game out of reach in the 6th inning. Dalenta and Calabrese each had 5 hits of their own, while TJ Furey had a career best 4-5 outing.

May 29th

Province Mortgage - 8

Dunkin Donuts - 26

Player of the Game: Ryan Aiken - 5-5 - 2HR, 3 Singles - 4 Runs Scored

The game was almost not played due to the lights not working, but thanks to big part from Steve Hanjack and Tony Calabrese breaking into the control room, the game was played. The Donuts started with 9 guys in the first inning which hurt bad, because Province was able to find holes all over the place. Allowing only 3 runs in that first inning was lucky, and after that, the Donuts never trailed again. They scored 5 runs in the first, 11 in the 4th, and another 8 in the 5th, to cruise on to another easy win against another A league team, which was the #1 overall team in the league. The other team finally showed the Donuts some respect congradulating them after the game on a game well played. Ryan Aiken went 5-5 with 2 home runs, while Calabrese and Rick both homered. Donuts 1-5 hitters went a combined 21-25 with 4 homers.

June 7th

Dunkin Donuts - 26

Tommy's Supplies - 8

Player of the Game: Ryan Kilty - 5-6 - 2HR, 2 Triples 6 Runs Scored

The Donuts started off flat losing until the 5th inning. In the 6th inning they scored 10 runs to put the nail in the coffin. Once the bats started to get going, they never stopped. Homers came from Ryan Kilty (2), Tony Calabrese, Ryan Aiken, Steve Hanjack, Karl Gates (2), and Jon Bard.

June 7th

Dunkin Donuts - 25

Chicago Sams - 9

Player of the Game: Tyler Breton - 4-5 - 1HR, 1 Double, 2 Singles 3 Runs Scored

In the second game of the double header, the Donuts played much better. Tony Calabrese got the nod, and pitched a gem only allowing 9 runs (half of them being earned). Home runs came form, Tony Calabrese (2), Ryan Aiken, Tyler Breton, Rick Breton, Steve Hanjack, and Karl Gates.

June 11th

Sports Corner - 8

Dunkin Donuts - 10

Player of the Game: TJ Furey - 2-3 - 1 Single, 1 Game Winning Bases Clearing Double

Easily the craziest game the Donuts have ever played before. The field was under water at 6pm, but with the work of 8 or 9 rakes and brooms, the Donuts cleared the field off to play. Game time was set around 6:30, but it didn't start until a little after 7:00pm. Everyone on the team looked tired after all that work, and it showed with the bats. First off, the Donuts were missing 3 key starters in Calabrese, Gates, and Bard, but some good replacement players stepped up. Scoring only 2 runs in the first 4 innings, the Donuts were down 8-2 going into the 5th inning. The Donuts held Sports Corner scoreless in the top of the inning, with a massive thunderstorm and pouring rain above them. The umpire said he was calling the game after the bottom half of the inning, so the Donuts had to score atleast 6 runs to tie it. Rumore started off with a liner to first to get out, followed by a long chain of hits. Kilty got things going with a double, followed by a walk and a single by Rick and Aiken. Tyler then hit a 3 run homer to lower the lead to only 2. Trailing 8-6, Hanjack, Dalenta, Coope, and Boisseau went back to back to back to back with singles. TJ Furey came up with the double to seal the game away and give the Donuts the 10-8 victory in a 5 inning rain shortened game.

June 13th

Dunkin Donuts - 33

Mass Mutual - 14

Player of the Game: Mike Dalenta - 6-6 - 2HR, Triple, Double, 2 Singles, 5 Runs Scored

Another easy win for the Donuts. Mike Dalenta went 6-6 and he hit for the cycle easily. He also added an extra HR and single to top that off. Everyone hit tonight despite missing 3 key starters again. It was the 6th straight game that went less than 7 innings because of the score, and it was also the first game in 6 games the other team scored into double digits. Suprisingly the Donuts didn't use all of their homers, but Aiken went deep 2x along with Dalenta 2x, and Tyler.

June 19th

Dunkin Donuts - 32

Salty Dog - 17

Player of the Game: Mike Dalenta - 6-6 - 1HR, Triple, 4 Singles, 5 Runs Scored

The "shaved" bats were back against Salty Dog. The Donuts put up 32 runs in another A league win. Mike Dalenta went 6-6 including a home run, while Tyler Breton chipped in with 5 hits of his own. TJ Furey also helped the cause with 4 hits.

June 20th

Poulin Enterprises - 22

Dunkin Donuts - 23

Player of the Game: Ryan Aiken - 4-6 - 3HR, 1 Single, 4 Runs Scored

Another epic comeback for the Donuts in this game. Trailing the entire game, and down 22-17 in the bottom of the 9th inning the comback began. Aiken led things off with a solo homer, and then 6 straight singles from Tyler, Rick, Hanjack, Gates, Boisseau, and TJ got things all tied up at 22. With a man on 2nd and 3rd with one out, the other team intentionally walked Kilty to load the bases and hope for a force out. Calabrese then came up with the game winning sac fly to plate Boisseau and the win. Tyler Breton also chipped in with 5 hits for the 2nd straight game and TJ Furey also hit 4 more.

June 21st

Dunkin Donuts - 17

Whalers - 9

Player of the Game: Tyler Breton - 4-5 - 1 Double, 3 Singles, 1 Runs Scored

The Donuts had to play the first 2 innings with only 9 guys including two replacement players, and the last 2 innings with 9 guys, but that didn't stop them at all. Half of the game was a thunderstorm and downpouring rain, but that didn't stop them either. Playing against their rivals the Whalers, got them going just enough to put up enough hits, in a mediocre performance all around. Ricky Coope started the game 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 runs scored, but had to leave the game due to injury. Replacement player and the younger brother of TJ Furey, Mike "ICEBERG" Furey stepped up calling a great game behind the plate and also scoring 3 runs of his own.

June 27th

Dirt Dogs - 0

Dunkin Donuts - 17

Player of the Game: Rick Breton - Pitched a 2 hit shutout, 2 Singles, 1 Run Scored

Just a bloop single over the shortstop and a groundball down the 3rd baseline was all the Donuts allowed through a 6 1/2 inning game. Rick Breton pitched a gem and made a few putouts of his own. SS Tyler Breton had 6-7 putouts himself along with 3 hits. Calabrese and Aiken both went deep.

July 6th

Grey's Club - 4

Dunkin Donuts - 19

Player of the Game: Steve Hanjack - 3-4 - Triple, Double, Single, Walk, 2 Runs Scored

The bats were a little slow against the Grey's but back to back walks from Hanjack and Rick gave the Donuts a walk off 15 run rule win. Hanjack was a homer short of the cycle, Calabrese had 4 hits, and Dalenta and Kilty each chipped in with 3.

July 9th

Dunkin Donuts - 7

Longview RV - 14

Player of the Game: Rick Breton- 3-4 - Double, 2 Singles, Played w/ blown out knee

An unscheduled game, that was missing 4 starters, didn't go so well for the Donuts. Their 14 game winning streak came to an end with an awful game. To top things off, pitcher Rick Breton blew out his knee and could barely play, while still going 3-4. Kilty and Breton each chipped in with 3 hits, while Ryan Aiken homered.

July 13th

Province Mortgage - 22

Dunkin Donuts - 7

Player of the Game: Ryan Kilty- 3-4 - Triple, 2 Singles, 2 Runs Scored

Another game with 4 starters missing including the Donuts only pitcher. It didn't help that they were playing the #1 team in the league. It was a long awaited game, but when the same players are no shows for every game, it is hard to piece a team together. Ryan Kilty led the offense with 3 hits including a triple, while Calabrese, Aiken, and Hanjack each had 2. The game only lasted 7 innings because of the 15 run mercy rule.
