My Cat Billee
My (nearly) constant companion (besides from my wife Saima) is my cat Billee. One morning in March 2002 (before I got married), I was feeling lonely at home nearly constantly, so my friend Sara told me to get a cat. Remembering all the stories my father had told me about how he had had cats and loved them, I thought that wasn't such a bad idea. So Sara and I skipped college that day and drove up to Baltimore County Animal Control in Phoenix, MD (about 65 miles) and brought home Billee. She is tan, with a white nose, chest and paws. She catches birds, mice, rabbits, squirrels and insects.. Billee is almost six years old now. Here are a few pictures of Billee I have taken over the past couple years. Some of them are funny and some just show her development over the years.

This is Billee's first look at her human pet through a camera lens. This is what she looked like when she was one year old. I got her only about a week before I took this picture. (March 30, 2002).

Here is Billee enjoying the sunlight in my desk chair. She has certainly filled out a little bit more (Whiskas gourmet cat food). Whenever she saw a bird flit by the window she would immediately go on high alert with focused eyes and perked ears. (May 20, 2002).

...and this tea USED to be mine. This is an everyday occurrence. Saima complains that she makes the tea for Billee, not for me. I just let it get cold when I'm busy doing homework, by which time it is just the right temperature for Billee, who sits in my lap, patiently waiting...and then calmly climbs onto the table, and has her fill. (August 2003).

...and it must be REALLY GOOD tea for this to happen, but yes, it does happen. When her tongue can't reach what's left, she'll dip her paw into the tea, take it out, and lick it clean, until the cup has been wiped clean. (September 2003).
