Maryland Children's Health
Program gives
full health benefits for children up to age 19 and pregnant women of
any age.
The
program is for families with low to average income.
Medical services are given through
private Managed Care Organizations ( MCO's ) located throughout the
state.
It is easy to apply for the Maryland Children's Health Program.
Once
approved, you will get information in the mail about the
Managed Care Organizations ( MCO's ) in your area. You may choose
any
plan.

HealthChoice makes getting good
health care easy:

Your child
will have a Primary Care Provider who knows your child's medical
history.

Your child
can see a Primary Care Provider when sick, instead of waiting hours to
see a
doctor in the emergency room.

When you are
pregnant, you can get prenatal care and the doctor will answer your
questions
about your baby.
MCHP Premium
Maryland
Children's Health Program Premium is a low cost health plan for
uninsured
children up to age 19. MCHP
Premium is for families with incomes above the MCHP limit.
By paying one low monthly premium per family, children may get health
care
through an employer health plan or
Children
enrolled in an employer health plan will receive a second insurance
card to
cover the costs of co-payments,
deductables, and co-insurance.
If you are
interested in applying,
follow these few easy steps:

Get an
application by calling 1-800-456-8900, or from your local
Department of
Health or local Department of Social Services office.
·
One
application is used for both programs.
·
If you are
not eligible for free health care services, your children may be
eligible for MCHP
Premium. If interested in this program for
your children, answer "yes" to the question on the application
regarding your "willingness to pay a premium" .

application and mail or bring it to your local health department.
