| Modern Times The Red Elves made a pact with the Old Order, trading magical weapons for the use of "tamed" Old Order creatures. A small team of magic-users and two clergymen were sent to Yendor by the New Order to investigate this. The Red Elves' weapon stockpile was destroyed and the plot was uncovered with the assistance of a White Elf army in the region. Captured Red Elves admitted that the deal was struck so that the Old Order would be ready to invade Alalsil and conquer the New Order. The magical items were designed to counter the effects and powers of the New Order's magic-users. Had the plan worked, the main line of defense would have been conventional soldiers and clergymen. Once this was learned, both the New and Old Order sprung into action and prepared for immediate war. The Old Order was not prepared to invade yet, having instead aimed to do so in five to ten years. The New Order, which had enjoyed relative peace for generations, quickly assembled an international fleet in less than a month. The Red Elves declared war on the New Order even before the Old Order did. Meanwhile, the Whites instantly pledged their forces to any and all New Order causes. The on-and-off war between the Red and White Elves had been taken to another level. The Goblins reluctantly declared war on the New Order. The goblins are almost a slave race to the Old Order, being used as warriors and soldiers, so this act was not even needed. Many people believe that the goblins would switch sides the instant the Old Order begins to lose. The New Order invaded Drakazoriem three years ago, and the war has streadily marched on since. There are numerous stories coming back to Alalsil about how this is going, and most of which are positive. Messaria is in charge of the campaign against the Red Elves, Sefina and Croppell are focusing on Lower Drakazoriem, and the other kingdoms are handling Upper Drakazoriem and the goblins. Drezmore, land of the healers, has forces on all fronts for obvious reasons. |
