Shoufessma is the most tightly-regulated kingdom in the New Order. The Kingdom is known for its strong religious devotion (mainly to the Fellowship), almost nonexistant crime rate, graduated income taxes and remarkably stable atmosphere.
Predictably, there are a lot of restrictions on the users of Sight Magic. Because Sight Magic can give someone the ultimate advantage financially (seeing the future and knowing what will make them the most money), many Sight Wizards have wealthy families. This is partially why the tax system exists as it does, to keep the Sight Wizards from getting too much money and power. Many commoners don't even need to pay taxes because the wealthiest citizens handle the burden. Further restrictions are designed to keep Sight Magic users out of foreign markets and kingdoms in general. Despite this, loopholes can be found; this is most obvious by rich families such as the Reshoffs who deal in trade.
Many great adventurers have come from Shoufessma simply because the kingdom is so dull and calm. Some fun can be found in Shoufessma if you know where to look. Despite the peaceful nature of the region, skills with conventional weapons are praised. Sporting events such as friendly sword duels are commonplace, and championships based on the old "jousts" and "faires" are held yearly.
