Soft Pawn

So there is no body, no artefacts and no treasure within the tomb of Tea Muasa. Just this.. this thing in the sarcophagus. Still, the carvings on the wall are interesting and those in the antechamber may reveal previous unknown things about Hinduism on the island.

So not the most rewarding of trips, but not an entirely pointless one, at least from the Museum's point of view. You package a few items into your vacuum bags; one each of the contents of the various pots, a small chunk of the melted flesh of the creature, and a chipping from the solidified lava stuff for later investigation.

You get yourself ready to leave. Making your way out past the fireball is simple when you know to use the sunglasses to avoid being blinding, and you take a small portion of the abundant leaf matter for the biologists to potter over. Finally you reach the exit, and the sun greets your eyes, though through the shades it is not as blinding as it could be.

Looking around you try to find the caravan. You have not been gone long - barely an hour in the tomb - and they had instructions to wait for two days. You scan the nearby woods, and then notice...

There is a patch of blood on the worn grass nearby. Not a large one, but it was not there before.
