| Seen as the most unlikely suspect for the crimes he committed it was deep within Ted Bundy where his anger and motive lie, repressing all of his sexual urges and aggression until one day it would explode. He hardly fit the profile of a sex crazed serial killer. He was well educated, a good looking man, he had charm and wit the likes of which he would have no trouble gaining a companion, and in his social life experienced no difficulties in his relationships with women. His academic acheivements alone seperated him from the suspect list, he had been awarded among other distinctions a Chinese studies scholarships to Stanford University. In 1972 he obtained his BS in psychology and was employed as an assistant director of the local Seattle crime commission! Later bundy was accepted into the college of Utah where he would study law, it was then that the sexual killings of women in Seattle stopped and started in Salt Lake City. Bundy sexually assualted and killed 19 girls that we know of, the eldest of which was 23. When he was charged with kidnapping 18 year old Carol DaRonch the police further inquired as to his whereabouts when Caryn Campbell had been murdered in Colorado. The evidence would be very pleasing to them with no alibi and reciepts from Colorado near the crime scene, Bundy was taken to Colorado where he would stand trial for murder. In June 1977 while awaiting trial, Bundy escaped only to be caught almost immediately, six months later however he would successfully escape from through the ceiling of his cell, where he then made his way down to Florida. When recaptured Bundy finally confessed, however he confessed to 100 murders. A statement which he later withdrew, the toll is in all probability more along the lines of 40. A four year period over five states. There was no background from which to derive his urges, no abuse, verbal, emotional or physical. No head trauma, he seemed like a Jekyll and Hyde character as he stated in prison "I am a vampire" Though a bite mark did appear on one of the victims rear, and would actually condemn Bundy as evidence. 95% of the time he seemed a very intelligent, well mannered individual. He was executed on January 24th, 1989 |
