"The Boston Strangler"
By the time he was a teenager his criminal record had already begun, he arrested numerous times for breaking and entering and then a few years later he would break into a house while the parents were out and molest the nine year old daughter, the case was thrown out due to the mother of the victime deciding not to pursue the case.
Desalvo returned to Boston, made a living as a blue collar worker, settled down with a wife and two kids seemingly a normal man by now, however he was just putting on a facade. He could be as charming as he could be antisocial and this is how he was able to talk his way into women's apartments, then he would take their measurements feigning to be from a modeling agency, fondle them and then leave, he became known as the "measuring man" to the police and was finally arrested in 1960.
Eleven months later he was released talked his way into a womans apartment this time raping and killing her, he would continue to do so but as the victims grew in number he needed something more to get satisfied by 1962 he was stabbing victims repeatedly. DeSalvo took his final victim 19 year old Mary Sullivan and left the police a crimescene which would puzzle any psychiatrist. A pink scarf tied around her neck as she sat knees up at the headboard, seaman dripping from her face, a broom inserted in her, and a card at her feet saying happy new year.
She was his last victim but not his last crime DeSalvo now went back to non-lethal rapes already dubbed "the boston strangler" he was also dubbed "the green man" due to the pants he wore at the crimes. He was identified by one of his rape victims and was arrested, it was only later learned after his boasting that he was infact not just "the green man" but "boston strangler" also. However so that the courts could convict him of something, he was convicted as the green man and recieved life. He was stabbed to death in prison in 1973, the killer was never found.
