The mysterious (and cute) elf- prince of Mirkwood, Legolas is played by Orlando Bloom. He is one of the fellowship of the ring, and though many say he acheved the least of the Fellowship... He acheved much all the same. His best friends are of-course: Aragorn and Gimli. The friendship between the elf and dwarf was signifigant, considering that the two races had been bitter enimies for many ages before then.
During the travels with Aragorn, Legolas encoutered many things that in the past, he had not. He fought in the battle of Helms Deep, went into Fangorn forest, Rohan, and Gondor. More importantly, as it had been warned by Galadriel in the Two Towers; in the Return of the King, Legolas went on a dangerous trip into the Paths of the Dead with Aragorn, Gimli and the rest of the gray company. This trip brought him seaward, and as it does to all elves, the cry of the gull woke in him the great longing to leave Middle Earth and to go to Valinor.
