Dr
Mohd Maliki Osman
Dr Mohd Maliki Osman was
educated in Duchess Primary School, Dunearn Secondary Technical School
and subsequently First Toa Payoh Secondary School where he sat for his
'A' Levels.
He graduated with an honours degree from NUS in 1991 and joined the
Department of Social Work and Psychology as a Teaching Assistant. He
was promoted to Senior Tutor a year later. While employed as a senior
tutor, Dr Maliki worked on and obtained his Masters of Social Science
degree from NUS in 1994. In 1998, he obtained his Ph D in Social Work
from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Dr Maliki has won several academic awards including the Social Work
Special Book Prize in 1990 and 1991.
As a social researcher, Dr Maliki has done research in the areas of
family relationships, low-income families, gender roles in families,
and drug addiction.
Strengthening the family's ability to function effectively will ensure
its ability to meet the needs of its members and in turn develop
productive members of society. It is with this belief that Dr Maliki
ensures that despite his busy schedule, he spends time with his wife
and two children.
