������Star Trek the Next Generation is a television series which aired on syndicated television in the early 1990's. Continuing the story which began in the original Star Trek series of the 1960's, this series follows a new crew of the Federation Starship Enterprise as they fly through the galaxy exploring new worlds and meeting new forms of life. The grandmother of Dr. Beverly Crusher, the Enterprise's chief medical officer, has died and Dr. Crusher and several crew members attend the funeral. Dr. Crusher finds her grandmother's diary and discovers that the woman was having an affair with a very young man. She meets this man only to find out that he is no man, but a ghost which has haunted her family for centuries. At first she is swept away by her feelings for the life form, but strange happenings on the planet and the ship alarm Captain Picard, and he is able to bring Dr. Crusher to her senses.

������Duncan Regehr plays 'Ronin,' an anaphasic life form that feeds on the energy of other beings. Only the women in Beverly's family have the particular energy he needs, so he had devoted himself to pleasing them and keeping them happy.
