������Earth Star Voyager is a Disney mini-series which aired in 1988 on network television. It tells the story of a group of young adults and children who are chosen to take a spaceship, Earth Star Voyager, on a journey to another planet, as Earth's environment has degraded horribly. The captain, the only older adult on the crew, meets his demise early on, leaving the second-in-command, a boy in his early twenties, in charge. During their journey, they rescue Captain Jake Brown of the Vanguard Explorer, a forerunner of the Voyager which was presumed lost. They also run into a cut-throat society run by another survivor of the ill-fated Explorer (who just happens to be the brother of the Voyager's doctor as well as Jake Brown's deadly enemy) and an "alien" lifeform which is part human, part machine. The crew eventually discovers that the original captain's death was due to sabotage, and that their own ship has no weapons capability, because their true mission isn't to populate their new Earth, but to join with other ships to create a weapon of immense capabilities. The young crew must somehow thwart the evil plot while keeping their ship in one piece so that they can make it to their new home.
