| I started doing track my freshman year just to have another sport. I had already run cross country and played basketball that year and I wanted something to keep me active and involved at the end of the year. I chose Track and Field, and natrually because I did Cross Country, I started out running distance events. My freshman year I ran the 800m, 1600m, and the 3200m. It wasn't until the end of the season that I got bored with my events and asked coach if I could try a field event. Naturally coach said High Jump. I was suprised I hadn't thought of it before. My Dad was a high jumper in high school, and in college FOR GEORGIA TECH. He also did hurdles. I was a natural at high jump and did it exclusivly for the rest of the season and all of my sophomore season as well. |
