The story of “THE HEAD”

<This story is true and none of the names have been changed to protect the guilty........>

It was a typical summer weekend last year at the lake,

A little on the warm side.

Gerzbok had not yet arrived at the lake but the Princess, Lisa, her aunt and uncle had decided that they were going to pursue some of the elusive marine life that they claim is in those waters anyway.

So with fishing poles in hand they set out on this great quest. They reached the infamous dock where the not so sea worthy boat was moored.

A very small shallow 14 foot boat. Gerzbok has fished in this boat many times and it must be said that four people in that boat would technically classify it as a submarine. It must have looked like four people just skimming along the water on their back sides!

As the boat finally reached the opposite shore from where this three hour tour started, Gilligan or somebody decided to start fishing.

As they leisurely patrolled the shoreline they noticed something up ahead just kind of floating on the surface.

As they got closer they could see that it was the head of  a great fish of some kind. The fish did not seem concerned with the approaching "submarine".

At first they thought it was dead. As they got closer someone said to cast a line at it whereupon Lisa spoke up and said "NO! It might actually bite!"

(Editors note......Isn't that the whole idea behind fishing? To go out and catch "the Big One"?)

As they cautiously approached this fish they now dubbed "The Head" it just continued to float there with its mouth open until they literally got close enough that they could have hit it with their net.

At this point the “fish” disappeared to the murky depths below.

Unfortunately no one could identify what species it was but it was "very large" according to the adventurous crew when explaining to Gerzbok <sorry I’m belated> what had just transpired upon his arrival at the lake.

Gerzbok immediately had assumed that some "barley pop" was involved in this strange sighting but was assured that there was no barley pop onboard.(note of the publisher; except some empty bottles in the bilge !!)

I think perhaps some torpedoes will be in order this year for the upcoming fishing season.

Respectfully submitted true story by Gerzbok...........After all, who could make something like this up!
