Chris Collins, a graduate of Duke in '96, finishes up his 2nd season as a Duke Coach this year. His first season at Duke the Devils won the NCAA national championship, with a 82-72 victory over number 2 seeded Arizona. Motivated Mike Dunleavy to be a more agressive shooter durring the NCAA championship game, Dunleavy responded with drilling a historic 3 3-pointers in 45 seconds. Before returning to Duke, Collins served as an assistant coach at Seton Hall for two years. After Seton Hall, he spent one season (1997-98) as an assistant with the WNBA's Detroit Shock. While at Duke, Collins was a part of a team that had two ACC regular season championshops and an ACC Tournament title. Collins is the son of the Washington Wizards head coach, Doug Collins married Kim Walicki in May of 2002. |
