It was a cold and overcast day as each of our team members arrived one by one but that didn't stop our team or the thousands of other team members from coming out to join the fight for the cure. Our team decided to meet at 7:30 a.m. in front of the AmSouth/Harbert Plaza for some team pictures. After we took our group pictures, we decided to start the convoy to Linn Park to find out where the other team members were lining up.

As we made our way to the fountain located in the middle of Linn Park, the number of pink ribbons that lined the walkway were both beautiful and touching (these are ribbons that were put up in memory of all of the women that lost their fight with this disease). There were too many to count it seems. Race participants were also able to wear pink signs on the back of their team shirts in memory of friends/family members or in celebration of friends/family members that are fighting this disease.

As we made our way to the starting line of the race, there were so many thousands of people, it would have been very easy to loose a team member walking in the crowd. We actually had to hold on to each other to stay together!!

None of our team members worried about who walked the fastest or crossed the finish line first...we were all winners for showing up!
