Issue 2 (Summer/551 MR)

MAIN STORIES:

Tuornen cast into a devastating war.
Boeruine Trading Guild, acquired trading monopoly in one of Anuire's riches realms.
Mhor Daeric II invades Markazor.

Haelynir 1st:
Gorgon wanting to show Wierenech that their futile attempts to make their already impressive
fortification network, into impregnable ones, declared war on them, and sent in a large contingent
of goblins, dwarves, and orogs. It also said that a few giants was seen at the battle.

Haelynir 4th:
Elinie had some talks with the local guild.

Haelynir 5th:
The Imperial Temple of Haelyn, preaching the word, and their support of Heirl Diem,
made the people of Diemed see how truly lucky they are to live in such a wonderful place.
The people of Diemed, professed their true loyalty to the Dieman government.

Haelynir 6th:
Gavin Tael, fearing that the war like nature of Mhoried and Elinien, will resolt in an attack from
Markazor, continued to fortify Conallier.
Saying that since he was taking the time to oversee the construction anyway, he ordered
that the fortifications in Danarone should also be expanded.

Haelynir 7th:
The Free City of Endier, ever looking to expanding their trade network, started building a
caravel, and further improvements on their ship yard. After seeing to these preparations,
Endier sent a small delegation into Mhoried, and set up a small shop in the capitol.

Haelynir 8th:
The Second Swamp Mage was said to talk with someone inside Elinie.

Avanil deciding that all of the tax collectors in Haesrien where corrupt, tried to have
them fired. The Duchess of Tuornen not liking this said that Avanil had no authority to
dictate anything concerning her realm. Avan probably didn't like that very much, so he
moved troops to the Tuornen, and had some more trained in Daulton.

Haelynir 9th:
The Northern Imperial Temple, opened up a new shrine in Redoubt in Boeruine.

Haelynir 10th:
Mhoried moved some troops. Michael Mhoried, went to Ilien to talk with someone there.
He was said to come back with a large amount of money. The Mhor sold his interests in
the local guild.

Haelynir 11th:
It's said that the Sword Mage have been unseen for some time. He has probably been busy
researching.  Or maybe he is a shadow creature and have to spend time in the Shadow World.

Markazor reinforced their defence at the Elinien border.

Haelynir 14th:
Marlae Roesone, seeing no need to keep an expensive army, disbanded large parts of
her more experienced units.
Marlae also started to hire more guards and tax collectors, to enforce her laws more strictly
and effectively. The people of Fairfield seeing this for what it is, just an excuse to take more
advantage of the people, went on a spontaneous march around in the province proclaiming
to all who wanted to hear, that this proves the new Baroness to be of the same nature as
her uncles, and that she too has forgotten that Roesone was created to be free of oppression.
Of course there is also other opinions on the matter, and here are the musings from one of those.

"Roesone. To most of the civilized people of the Heartlands of Anuire it is a name that brings to mind images of wilderness, robberbarons and lawlessness. And given its history that is not surprising, being - as it was - carved out of just these very things by Daen Roesone, the man who became the first Baron of Roesone. Given the nickname "The Black Baron" he carved out a realm a mere 80 years ago, by forcing his will upon the independent minded people here, most of wich were (as any Roesonean will bluntly tell you, and not shamefull of it either), smugglers, robbers and other types of outlaws. Tough people they yielded not to Daen's law, but to his might of arms.

And law is indeed not what the House of Roesone buildt its realm on; it was might, combined with shrewd military minds. So it was also with the late Baron Teried Roesone, who until last year held power over this realm. But now, with the ascension of his daughter, Marlae, this might seem to have changed. Invested on the Day of Rebirth 550MR, this young lady, having already received the nickname "The Black Baroness" due to her raven black hair, has commited herself to an aggressive build up of law holdings in Roesone. Disbanding several army units and using that manpower to build up an impressive cadre of loyal magistrates, there is now, it seems, more guards in Roesone than there is in the Imperial City itself. And unlike the Imperial City, where one cannot assume where the guards lojalities lie by their uniform, in Roesone there has been proved many a times recently, that here the guards uniform do show whom they serve; The Black Baroness Marla Roesone. And you better believe it!
"

Haelynir 15th:
The Colony of Mieres, obviously being free to do whatever they wish these days, constructed
a caravel, and tried to get people from the Southern Coast to come and live in Ghaele.
The people from the Southern Coast, being the cultivated people they are, had no wish to
live in a backwater Colony, and even less in Ghaele, a place no one had even heard of before now.
The Governor also had a Decree, asking for adventures to help him explore the northern Adurian
wilderness. Some of the scholars in the White Collage of the Bards, stated that the wilderness
was better left alone, so not do disturb whatever might live there.

Haelynir 17th:
Entier Gladanil, went to talk to the guilds in Cariele to get them to contribute to the defence of
their nation. If he met with any success at all, are unknown.

Haelynir 19th:
Tuornen tried to repel any influence Avanil might have gathered in Haesrien.

Haelynir 21st:
Guildmaster El-Hadid opened up a new trade route from Ilien to Aerele.
Aerele have now more then enough food.

Haelynir 23rd:
Alamie Declared War on Tuornen. "It is time for us to reclaim what is ours, and reunite the great
Arch-Duchy of Alamie
". Alamie sent one army into the capitol of Tuornen, and another into Alamsreft.
Alamie won the battle at Alamsreft, and laid siege to the castle in Haesrien.
6 minor nobles, and one of Tuornens Counts, was captured in the fight for Alamsreft.

Haelynir 24th:
Medoere started building their own ship yard. They also tried to implement new trade laws [Rule Law],
but was advised against it by the priests in Ruornils Celestial Spell.

Anarire 2nd:
Arch-Duke Boeruine, and half of the army used to occupy Ghonallison moved back into Boeruine.
"We have done what we came for, making the people of Ghonallison safe. With the soldiers we've
left behind to guard them, the people should now be fairly safe from the Manslayer
".

Anarire 4th:
Liliene Swordright, regent of Aerenwe, talked to Siele Ghoried this month. After the talks the Spider River
Traders was named a state approved guild.

Anarire 5th:
Elinie after some small preparations, declared war on Markazor, and moved into Sutren Hills.
After a small, but fierce battle, the goblins was forced to retreat. Daouta was instrumental in this
victory.

Anarire 7th:
Arles Innes, Courtwizard of Boeruine, has lately been building a tower. The tower are getting so large
that most people can see it from a large distance away.

Anarire 8th:
Endier had a long, but nice talk with Gavin Tael. Not much has slipped from the talks as of yet,
but the Imperial News are hoping that a statement from Guilder Kalien, what all the big and
importent people want to talk with him about.

Anarire 10th:
Avanil clearly in a race to get an large army, had 2 elite infantry and 2 archers trained.
Rumours has it that both his treasury, and those trained enough to be put into an elite
infantry unit, are beginning to decrease.
Prince Avan clearly being in the want of more influence over his neighbours, declare war
on Tuornen. "This is a peacekeeping mission. Our goal is to prevent Tuornen from being
taken by the forces of Boeruine and Alamie. Our only goal is to restore order
".
Of course this reporter notes that most of Boeruines offensive units, has already left
Tuornen.

Anarire 11th:
Prince Avan led his troops into Nabhrien himself. Even though the two facing armies numbered
almost the same, Avan's army was of a superior quality. And with Avan's brilliant strategy,
the Tuor army was completely routed. Only one archer got away. Several minor nobles was
captured. Avan's army has only minor casualties. The fight in Tuor's Hold didn't go as smooth
for Avanil though. Braedonnal Tuare, the Elf commander of the old Arch-Duchy of Alamie,
now commander of the armies of Tuornen. The same who slew Jerem Alam, in the duel under
the second Alamie-Tuornen war, led a counter strike against the invaders from Avanil.
Even though Avanil has sent a larger force into Tuor's Hold, they was driven back into Avanil.
Braedonnal himself killed Count Fernarion Deherlion, Avanils second in command concerning
military matters.

Anarire 13th:
The Mhor, declared he wished the death of all Goblins. Not a strange wish, and far from
unique, but stating it in the public might not be the smartest either. The goblins of Thurazor,
being of the more civilised kind, didn't find the decree very funny, even though it was at the
time the Mhor decided to make war on Makrazor.
Michael Mhoried, son of the Mhor, led an army into Periltrees. After a bloody fight, they made
the goblins flee, although for some reason none made it very far.
The Mhor led a large army into Brushfire. The goblins got a few reinforcements from their provinces
in the north, which made the battle fierce. The battle didn't have any conclusion at first.
The Mhor called in some cavalry for reinforcements, and the goblins called in several units too.
The Mhor after a long battle, costly in troops for both side, managed to win with the help of
the Patriarch of Elinie.
The Mhor also sent a small army into Riverspring, and made a easy victory there, since
most of the goblins here had gone south to help fight the larger battles there.

Anarire 16th:
The new Baroness of Roesone have passed most of the last month travelling through her realm visiting every place where more than a handful of her subject have stuck roots; this so she could see first hand the state of her land, and giving her subjects the chance to meet their new ruler. Her forthcomingness toward her people has impressed them all and the Baroness popularity have as a result reached heights none could have dreamt of; except in the province of Fairfield, where the people were sullen and hostile to the royal party. There the Baroness speech, in which she promised to ensure a safe future for Roesone and its people, were met with accusations of endangering the local population by diminishing the province's garrison. The Baroness stated that this was not true, pointing out that there is a garrisoned unit in the province, as there is in every province of the realm, and that in Fairfields case it was merely a change of type of units, not demilitarization, that had taken place. Certain individuals agitated that a unit of scouts couldn't stand up to anything in the neighbouring provinces in the north, while pikemen would've, but this happened well out of hearing of the Baroness and her host, the Count of Fairfield.

Anarire 24th:
El-Hadid tried to drive out the business of Ortien Tane from the province of Aerele.
He wasn't successful though, much because of the help from the Dieman baurocates.

Anarire 25th:
Coeranys had a long road built. Then a new Trade Route was opened up.

Anarire 28th:
Carilion Alam hired Captain Dirks Superb Recon Unit, and sent them to Haesrien
to help with the siege of the castle there.

Anarire 29th:
Medoere tried to get more people to move into their domain.
Unfortunately those who considered it was drawn to the cheap housed to be bought
in Tenarien instead.

Deismir 3rd:
Boeruine had the province Ghonallison invested to him. Tuornen tried to put up a resistance,
but either Boeruine was to powerful, or Tuornens former might is already crumbling.

Deismir 5th:
Elinie muster a cavalry unit, and tried to increase their influence over their capital.

Deismir 6th:
The Imperial Temple of Haelyn tried to contest ETN in Ilien, but they failed because
of the interference of Rogr Aglondier. "I will not have anyone taking any advantage of anyone
else in Ilien without my prior knowledge
".

Deismir 7th:
"Seeing how our neighbours make war on all around us, we have decided to make Ghoere
an impregnable fortress for all except the very mightiest. Our first concern are the protection
of our people, and we will spare no cost to do so
". After giving this small speech, Gavin Tael
order the construction of forts in Bheline, Tireste, Ghiere, Thoralinar, and Achiese.

Arles Innes, recruited an experienced fighter from Boeruine to help train his personal troops.
His first task was to find some troops to train.

Deismir 8th:
The Second Swamp Mage went around in Osoerde trying to get more magical influence.
Although it seems he's succeeding, he should maybe be a little more care in the times to
come, considering that fact that the Duke have made more troops available to the search
of the rebells. If the second is unlucky enough, he just might run into one of the search
groups looking for the rebel camp.

Deismir 10th:
Prince Avan gathered together all from Avanil and Taeghas with a wider infantry experience,
and formed 7 new elite infantry units. It is unlikely he'll find the men to form any more for
a long time. Avan also convinced more of his nobles to join his army, making his army swell
with 3 Knight units. Prince Avan, reinforced with 1 Knight, and 2 Cavalry units, and one
Knight of Haelyn from the Western Imperial Temple of Haelyn, led his army from
Nabhriene to Tuor's Hold to match his wits with Braedonnal Tuare.
Prince Avan have for some reason gain the ire of the Militant Order of Cuiraecen,
which sent 5 units of Elite Infantry, and 4 units of MOC's own Knights to fight of Tuare's side.
Both of the commanders used brilliant strategies, but in the end Tuare made Avan withdraw
back into Avanil. In so doing the Tuor side managed to capture 50 of Avanils Knights,
which are now held for ransom together with the other troops captured by that side.
Prince Avan was most distraught by the defeat, and wowed to come back with a larger
army. His advisers might try to make him choose otherwise though.

Deismir 11th:
Mhoried has had a successful raid into Markazor, and the people are optimistic that
Mhor Daeric II won't get the same faith as his great-great grandfather did.
Because of this optimism, the people has started to settle some of the more rural places
in Cwlldon. This makes Mhoried the fastest growing realm. Although with all the people
who has died in the the wars around in Anuire there might not be enough people to populate
all the free houses in Cwlldon.

Deismir 13th:
The Sword Mage, being a way for several months has now again returned from his keep.
He is supposed to have uttered something about making sure Mhoried don't mess with
his sources anymore. If this is true, Mhoried might be in for a nasty surprise.

Deismir 14th:
A large contingent of Dwarves moved into and retook the province of Rivenspring in Markazor.

Deismir 17th:
The Baroness again hired even more people to watch over their actions.
The people from Fairfield have been talking to some others about this, and the general
sentiment is that for now they'll watch just what the Baroness is up to, but if she
overstep the boundaries of her rule, they'll be prepared to do something about it.

Deismir 18th:
The Duke of Diemed on the other hand don't seem to get much problem from his subjects,
because of increased law.

Deismir 24th:
El-Hadid tried once more to contest the guild of Orthien Tane. He failed once more.

Deismir 25 th:
The forces from Alamie stormed the castle in Haesrien. The Alamian forces had huge losses,
but they succeeded in taking the castle. The nobles inside was taken hold of, and returned
to Lofton, the capital in Alamie. Several from House Tuor, including the Duchess, was inside
the castle, and find themselves now in the hands of Carilion Alam.
Several nobles from other realms where also at the castle, but they too was transported to
Lofton. "We are pressing charges against House Tuor for rebellion against their rightful liege,
the killing of their kinsmen, and of unjust treatment of the subjects of Alamie.
The dignitaries from other realms will be taken to Lofton, to protect them from the harm they
might be inflicted if a counter offensive is launched against Haesrien. As soon as the roads are
safe to travel, they might go home, or to whatever other place they might want to go
".
As for now, we can confirm that ambassadors, nobles, and other dignitaries from the following
realms where at the castle of Haesrien before it was surrounded by Alamian forces; Avanil, Boeruine,
Roesone, Brosengae and Ghoere. Who among these are now transported to the capital of Alamie
is unknown.

Deismir 26th:
Trade boom in Taeghas. After a few prospectors found gold in the Brosien province, the provinces
was swarmed by people wanting to get rich fast on gold. The Taeghas Outfitters, seeing how they
could take advantage of all this people, open up some new tools shops, hotels, and inns the the province.
Lots of people has expressed a wish to settle in the province, but Count Khorien has forbidden it
for now, wishing to let the big magical potencial in the province be.

Deismir 28th:
The inhabitants of the Spiderfell has against showed their ugly head.
The province in Ghoried in Roesone, and Tier in Diemed, was both visited by goblins riding
large spiders. The Imperial News haven't received any indications from that the Dieman government
will come forward with a comment on the matter, but one of the squad leaders from Tier had this
to say, "we kicked their ass!"

A force of spiderriders from the Spiderfell invaded the province of Ghoried in Roesone less than a week ago. The invading force, consisting entirely of goblins riding spiders the size of ponies, lay siege to the town of Thoeren's Landing, but prompt action from the Black Baroness broke the siege within two days, as she personally led a unit of knights and one of archers into the province and engaged the enemy. After a bloody battle in which the Black Baroness participated personally, the Roesonean forces emerged victorious, leaving no survivors among the enemy.

Rumours:
Guilder Kalien is near bankrupt. Someone has stolen his money.
El-Hadid are the richest man in Anuire. With his lucrative trade marked, he has earn more
money then what the Emperors of old ever had.
The Sword Mage are a fiend, and can call lots of others to his aid whenever he wants.
The Chamberlain has been sick for 3 weeks, and only trusted advisers have been allowed to
see him in that time.
Ghoere is allied to Osoerde.
The Gorgon is coming.
Azrai is coming too!
Prince Avan knocked down one of his guards in anger and frustration.
Boeruine and Alamie are allied.
