Heirl Diem is a man who lives and dies for the words of Diem family, "family, duty, honor".
He is a warrior of hearth, and he has fashioned his realm on that premise.
Even if he some times are a little harsh, he is always fair.
Even if Heirl is a hard man who believes in his own judgment above all else,
he isn't so dumb that he won't listen to the advise of others, that's why he
have reformed the Landsraad of Diemed so that the more influential persons in Diemed
and the surounding realms can come with their comments to any future projects that
Diemed might undertake.
Heirl Diem was born in 510 MR, which means that he's becoming a old
man, but that doesn't stop the Duke, because he's almost as active as always.
And like most Diem's the Duke feels strongly about tradition, and this explains
many of the actions he and his realms take.
Heirl was married in 529 MR, and he and his wife had 3 children before she died.
His wife, Kathryn, died on a hunting trip, where she felled of her horse and
broke her neck.
His 3 children are named Oeren, Shames and Lasica.

Oeren Diem
Oeren is the Dukes oldest child and son, which makes him the heir to
the throne of Diemed.
Oeren was born in 534 MR, under a calm and quiet day.
In most ways Oeren is like is father, the Duke, but some has commented
that he isn't as shrewd and ambisous as his father, but in turn he said that
Oeren just lacks experience.
Oeren as most male Diem's was brought up as a knight, and has studied
the art of statesmanship in the Imperial City of Anurie.
Shaemes is the Dukes second child, and youngest son.
Shaemes was born in 537 MR, under a dark and stormy night.
He, like his brother, where raised as a knight and a nobleman,
but he unlike his brother aren't a hair to anything and this might
explain why he has since 565 MR have more or less locked himself
out of the world and studied arcane lore.
It seemed that he wanted to become a wizard, so his father arranged
for him to study at the College of Sorcery, since being a wizard is a noble
and good calling.
But to his surprise Shaemes rejected the offer to study at the CoS,
instead he went to study with the Orthodox Imperial Temple of Haelyn.
His father did of course approve of this action, since all in the Diem
family have always been stern Haelyn followers.
So after five years of studying the arts of priesthood, he received the
title of apprentice priest within the OIT.
But only a short while after he received this nomination, he decided to resign from
his commission with the OIT, and instead went on a perfonal quest to find out how
he where to best serve Haelyn, the Patron God of Anurie.
Lasica unlike quite a few Anurean ladies never liked the more
"ladylike" doings, and instead wanted to follow the old traditions
of the Diem's.
Of course it isen't very often a noble lady to want to follow the
way of the warrior and become Knight, but it do happen, and some of the
female Diem's of the past have been notable warriors.
One of the things that always drove Lasica in her yougth was that she
wanted to be better then her brothers in everything.
This even was true when it came to Shaemes' art.
It was known that Shaemes was interested in ancient lore, and it was
guessed that he would become a wizard, but he decided to become a priest instead.
The Duke, Lasica's father, had bought a place for Shaemes to study at
the Collage of Sorcery, but since he decided to become a priest instead the seat wasen't
taken, so a few years later when Lasica felt like 'going out into the world', she
convinced her father to get her the education instead.
Lasica is now the High-Marshall of the Armies of Diemed, and an experienced
wizard.
