and the waters of strife
that they may come to know
the true meaning of life."

The limelight. Irresistible to some. But you won't find the artist Christian"Mojo" DuFauve featured in Rolex commercials or making rock star videos. No cameo on sitcoms. No selling pizza pies. No weekly updates on his doings on some Entertainment show. No appearances on Talk shows.
Yet his work is noteworthy and deserves attention. Though the artist himself is an intensely private person, he does tolerate the occasional inclusion of his work in various exhibitions.
It is not that he is adverse to the press. He feels it serves a useful purpose, according to his agent, but he does object to crass commercialization all too prevalent in today's society.
"DuFauve feels that the measure of a person's worth is too often defined by what products he or she can sell. Soft drinks, hair color, foods, shoes, beer. He feels that is demeaning and totally meaningless. He would never do an endorsement," his agent reveals. DuFauve knows his personal worth is determined by his unique vision.
However, DuFauve is an artist of considerable talent. His work is vigorous and cogent. He serves up a potent visual jambayala of intriguing compositions and heady conceptual commentary. His experiential repertoire plays a significant role in his work by manifesting itself in revealing insights on relationships. Political satire and surrealistic portraits are integral to his body of work as well.

| No matter what the theme, DuFauve's art is pithy and eloquent, reminding us of factors motivating the human animal. Though he takes careful aim at strife, greed, repression, his art mitigates these undesirable elements into a poetic fluidity through which we may learn and understand what makes us tick, a kind of gris-gris to soothe the savage heart. |
