| Hey, vodka here. Said a spikey haired young man wearing circular sunglasses and a dark, hawaiin patterned shirt. He yawned a bit as the barkeep brought him his drink. Thanks., he muttered, getting a simple nod from the scruffy looking guy behind the bar. He raised a brow and grinned as he lifted the glass in front of him, peering in. Maybe I shouldnt. he said in a sly voice. Within a few seconds he shrugged off his doubts and took a swig. Suddenly in the corner a table is heard crashing to the ground. The young man simply narrows his eyes behind his lifted glass and glares over to see two men, one threateningly pointing his finger at the other near the entrance. Sneering, the young man stood and slowly made his way into a small crowd, eagerly awaiting the pending brawl. Moments after screaming various obscenities at the shorter, stockier man, the lanky bald man rushed forward swinging his fist wildly at the other man. The shorter man drunkenly stumbled backward, veering off to the side a little upon getting punched in the cheek, then glared at the tall man. He ran forward and punched the tall man much harder then he himself had been hit sending him into a nearby chair. Grins could be seen among the faces of the onlookers as they once again scrambled to their own respective seats. The young man stood leaning against a wall on the side. Suddenly his watch made a beeping noise. He slowly brought up his wrist and stared down to it. Oh well, that was entertaining, but I have places to be. He lazily pushed himself off of the wall and put his hands in his pockets, walking from the entrance hunched over a bit onto the wet sidewalk, yawning. After a short walk the young man came to a large warehouse. Peering up he smirked slightly. After putting a passcode into the small console near the large front door, it opened slowly. The street lights shone off a large figure within the darkness, slumped onto its knee and holding two large objects. They wont know what hit them. The large doors closed behind him as he slowly walked toward the large machine. A few moments passed as the pilot suited up in his combat gear. The pilot brought all systems of his unit online. Tilting his head slightly forward he looked over his sunglasses to his radars bio-sensor, checking for potential humans in the area. Upon confirmation that he was alone, he remotely activated the warehouse door opening it for the last time. A shaggy haired dog walked by, turning toward the opening doors. Its brown eyes widened a bit as a bright visor-like light suddenly illuminated the dark recesses within building. With a whimper the canine hastily ran off. The machines figure became more and more visible as it walked from the shadows. The eye of the mechanical giant peered up to a tall building in the distance as its pilot grinned. The air gave off a still feeling, and the night sky was golden with the light of the city. Lets see, so my main objective is to take out those MTs guarding the roof. Hmm, I wonder how many there are. The pilot said to himself. Suddenly a large light was shone on his AC. The hell? he said, surprised. A small patrol MT with a search light mounted on its shoulder took a step backward as its pilots frightened voice came through. AAn AC?! The AC turned its head to the MT as the MT raised its one small machinegun, aiming at the AC. Fine. Said the AC pilot as he closed his eyes nonchalantly. The ACs Exceed Orbit sprung from its core and blasted intense beams of rapid-fire energy into the MT, melting it down into scrap before it could even get off a single shot. The ACs boosters soon flared. It flew to the top of a 10 story building and landed, running to the the edge then continuing to the next building. He soon came to his objective area and stopped before flying to the roof. It says theres six on radar He said to himself. No problem then. The midweight Armored Core boosted its way to the top of the target building and landed atop the roof, raising its guns. With a grin of the pilot, he opened fire with his machinegun, blasting the closest MT with concentrated fire. Theres one. He said as it exploded. He quickly turned his head and boosted backward as a large shell flew in front of him, raising the red left arm shotgun in the process and spraying pellets at the MT that was taking cover behind an elevated helipad. He took flight as his dual missiles suddenly came online, dropping over his shoulder and spreading into the shape of a V. He quickly launched two of the missiles at the hiding MT, over its cover. Upon getting confirmation of its destruction on his HUD, he was knocked from the air by another large shell. F***! he screamed as his cockpit shook. His AC landed hard then he quickly looked up. His AC raised both its arm guns and began blasting as its EO also sprung into action. There goes two more. The pilot looked around suspiciously. Thats strange, earlier it said there were six. Maybe I need to get this radar checked. After a few more moments the pilot shrugged and yawned. Sure, yeah, good job buying a crap radar Sym--- The pilots sentence was cut short by his vision of a quickly moving aerial object, followed by a strange sound. He widened his eyes as he muttered the words What... is that? Suddenly the large dark flying object stopped and hovered before the AC. Its form seemed to change as it got closer to the ground, pointy leg-like appendages protruding from the bottom, and the booster flares on its back growing more intense. Hostilities----Commence Said a voice, very robotic in nature. Sh**! The pilot said as he widened his eyes. He quickly raised his ACs guns, but before he could pull the trigger the MT flew straight upward at an incredible speed. The pilots eyes filled with bright flashes of light as the MT blasted intense beams of plasma into the buildings rooftop. Damn it! screamed the pilot as he helplessly plumetted through the collapsing roof, unable to escape the fall. His AC fell to its knee, among the rubble, its leg sparking, damaged. The pilot shook his head. He looked upward but saw nothing, yet heard the same strange, almost alien robotic noise. Its up there He tried to stand his AC but couldnt due to the damage its right leg sustained in the fall. He suddenly got a call from his liason manager. Raven, clear out. Crest says clear out now! The Raven replied quickly. What?! Whats going on! Crest is going to bomb that place, get out of there Raven! The pilot widened his eyes. And activated his boosters, hovering off the ground a bit. He quickly looked around and brought up his ACs two main guns, blasting a hole in the wall then stumbling his AC through the best he could. Raven your transport is neaby. Hurry there. Said the liason managers voice. The pilot twitched, mumbling. Well I would if my leg wasnt malfunctioning and about to blow up The pilot managed to slowly make small boost hops to the closed highway where his transport was said to be waiting. He looked around for the transport, but soon heard a loud explosion behind him. He turned and saw the remnants of the large building collapse. After staring for a few moments, his transport touched down. After boarding the ship he sat there in his AC, he sighed a sigh of relief and muttered to himself. Was all that just to destroy that one Thing? Later at base the pilot walked from his garage and across an outdoors balcony type structure on the way to his room, but down the way stood three others. One stood at about 511, had long black hair and leaned against the wall, cigarette in hand. The other stood a bit shorter and had short brown hair. The last, a man with long brown hair in a ponytail stood near a window at the same height as the first man, albeit a bit huskier. The pilot stopped and nodded to them each individually. First to the shorter one. Delve. Then to the dark haired one Crim. Lastly to the other one. Corsair. Crimson Fury turned away and tossed his spent cigarette over the balcony, making a simple statement just as he began to walk away. We have things to discuss. Lets go. The others soon followed, Symphony of Destruction tilted his head and narrowed his eyes, wondering what was up. He soon began following as well. -To Be Continued |
