390 motor - paid $240
I bought this car at an auction in the middle of winter.
I replaced the plugs and found one that was fouled badly.
This car is going to be run in a near stock derby, where it should do well.

I was hitting pretty good with the car and doing some damage. When there was
only 5 cars left (out of 20), I busted a throttle cable. Luckily that morning,
I hade adjusted the carb and got it to idle nice and high. I managed to just
idle the car back and forth and still make hits. I won my heat that way.
I rigged up a hand throttle for the feature and was doing well, until some one
took out my front end. The car stalled and I couldn't get it to refire

The car was hurt to bad to run again, so I scrapped it. I got it on the trailer
and took all the tires off, figuring it wasn't going to fall off that way.
I'm not sure why I didn't chain it down at all, but I got a mile from
home, went to take off and it slid 1/2 way off the trailer. Luckily, I dug
around and found a come-along to keep it from sliding all the way off.
I dragged it back home, having to stop once and pick up a brake drum that fell off.
