Chapter Four: It's All Your Fault

Draco lay there on that bed, which he seemed to be confined to. Madam Pomfrey made it clear to him that he was not to leave that bed for anything. After what Hermione had told her she wasn’t about to risk anything.

"I am sorry dear, you can not leave that bed." She stated only after Draco had bugged her for the seventh time in a row. "It’s just too unsafe."

"Why? I feel fine."

"Miss Granger thinks that it has something to do with your brain and I agree with her. You don’t just do what you did and not have it be anything. I still have a few tests to run. You will be released tomorrow."

"I am going to murder that mudblood," Draco spat under his breath.

Madam Pomfrey left shortly after, leaving Draco alone, again, in the dark hospital room. He leaned his head back and tried to relax, but he found that more difficult every time he closed his eyes.

"I think it’s rather funny that you are stuck here in that hospital bed." Draco’s eyes flew open at the sound of the voice. His heart beating faster than it should and sweat rolling down his face, Draco looked around for the inhabbitor of the voice. There was a small laughing coming from the dark corner by the doorway and Draco unconsciously looked over. "You are really easy to scare, Malfoy." Hermione walked out of her hiding place and smirked.

Draco looked at her curiously.

"You’re..." Draco never got to finish, for there was an earsplitting scream from down the corridor. Draco, forgetting about what the medi-witch told him, bolted out of the bed and down the corridor to see what happened. When he reached the end of the corridor he took notice to a small girl rocking in the corner. Draco squinted to see who she was, but her face was hidden.

"Are you all right?" Draco soon regretted asking. He was a Malfoy and he shouldn’t be nice, to anyone. Damn you Cree, he thought as the girl looked up at him. "Granger?" the girl nodded and looked away from him. "What happened?" he half spat. Hermione looked back at him then tried to speak, but nothing came out. Then it hit him. Hermione had been in the Hospital Wing, or so it seemed.

"It’s your fault." was what came out when she finally found her voice. "All your fault."

"What the bloody hell are you talking about, mudblood?"

"She says it’s all your fault."

"She?" Draco laughed then looked around.

"All your fault. It’s all your fault." She kept repeating those words, nothing more and nothing less.

"Mudblood, what is my fault?!?!" He yelled. She was getting on his nerves. What is wrong with her? She’s finally cracked, he thought just as she looked at him, again.

"She says it’s all your fault."

"She? Whom do you mean by she? God damn it mudblood, stop it."

Hermione’s eyes rolled back into her head then back to him. She leaned closer to him and whispered "Cree." Draco jumped back at the mention of her name.

"She is dead." he said in a panic. "Dead."

Hermione went back to her rocking and muttering.

"All your fault. It’s all your fault. She says it’s all your fault." Hermione eyes closed and she slumped to the ground. Draco leaned down to look at her just as he heard a sharp intake of breath. He whirled around and came face to face with Harry and Ron.

"What did you do to her Malfoy?!!?!?!?"

Draco looked back down to Hermione.

"Nothing, Weasel. Now, if you do not mind, I have to go." he said hotly. As he turned to go, Ron grabbed his arm.

"What did you do to Hermione?" he spat through gritted teeth. Malfoy stared, emotionless, at Ron.

"I did nothing to your precious mudblood, Weasel." Without warning, Ron’s fist hit Draco’s jaw. Draco stumbled back. "Bloody hell, Weasley, I am telling you the truth." he said as he rubbed his jaw.

"Malfoy’s never tell the truth. Your life consists of lying, killing, and dark magic."

"You know nothing of my life or family, Weasley." Ron snorted.

"The whole lot of you are Death Eaters." Malfoy glared at him and one thing led to the next and Ron was on the floor with Malfoy punching him.

"Get off!!" Ron yelled as Malfoy punched him again. Harry, by that time, was trying to pry Malfoy away from Ron. Ron, as did Hermione, had hit one of those nerves and knew it was a bad thing. Malfoy hated nothing more than people accusing his family of things without the full truth, and Cree.

Harry had managed to get the two apart, even though it took more work than it was worth.

"Ron, take Hermione and go."

Ron did what he was told and left with Hermione in hand. Harry turned to Malfoy.

"You may have not done anything to Hermione, but you have done worse" was all Harry said before he left. Draco leaned against the wall and took a deep breath.

"Why me?? Why is it always me??" he asked himself as he slid down the wall. "Why in the bloody world is it always me?" Draco cupped his face in his hands, trying to hide something that no Malfoy was ever allowed to do.
