this is my daddy charlie...he died this year on april 10. he had cancer in his brain and lung, and after two surgeries and chemotherapy, he died 11 months after he was diagnosed. its hella sad..he was only 45 and what he had was usually found in people in their 60s and 70s, so they said he would probably pull through it because he had youth on his side. they hoped he would live at least for a few more years and it looked promising, but then out of nowhere he had a grand mal seizure. he pretty much was a vegetable in the hospital bed for a few days..couldnt talk or move..he just kinda layed there and groaned and grunted.. and they didnt think he would come out of it, but somehow he did and we thought things would be okay. after about a week he was able to talk and walk again....but then things slowly started getting worse from there...eventually he was basically living in a chair at his moms house cause he couldnt walk by himself or anything..and one day his mom was helping him get down the hallway from the bathroom and he fell and she couldnt get him back up. so she called the ambulance and they said he was having internal bleeding so they kept him in the hospital...that night he had another grand mal seizure and it put him in a coma and was on life support for 2 days til we pulled the plug.
my dad was a really cool guy. he was a mechanic for like 30 years...absolutely loved cars and owned quite a few awesome old cars in his lifetime...he had his own auto shop and stuff, and he was going to be an auto teacher at deanza college, but then he stopped working in the auto industry. he got a job as an electromechanical technician at stanford university at the stanford linear accelerator center where he built hutches for atom splitting. at his funeral, his friend greg said he was an absolute genious and i think he was right. he was a really funny guy...always telling jokes..very witty. everybody loved him. he was very generous and loyal and a good friend to everyone he knew. he was one of those people that you would meet and totally love and connect with right away. he was great... |
