| September 30,2002 Again, I would like to share some awesome news with you. Rob received a spinal and again I can report NO EVIDENCE OF LEUKEMIA! Those are the sweetest words! Also I stated earlier that Rob would finish his chemo therapy in February 2003. This was a mistake. The actual date to finish is January 18, 2004. Rob is feeling great! He is in the 4th grade this year and seems to be enjoying life. He attended Heme Camp this year. (His first stay away from mom since diagnosis!) Also Rob is having some trouble receiving his chemo. It is given through the veins on the back of his hands. The veins are blowing, so they will begin to give the chemo through the top of his foot when the hands are no longer useable. Rob is stuck many times when the nurses are trying to find a useable vein. This is getting hard on all of us. The nurses feel so bad. Thank you again for always caring. I will try to add some pictures to his picture page, so be sure to check it. I know it takes a long time to download and I am sorry. Also I printed off the pages of his guestbook and put them in a scrapbook for him to keep. Feel free to sign again. |
| Merry Christmas! Rob had a spinal on Wednesday and again I am happy to report NO LEUKEMIA in the spinal fluid! Chemo also went well. He was only stuck three times the whole day. Lately he has been coming home with many sticks and many patriotic bandages. The steroid he takes for 5 days out of every 28 is having it's usual nasty effects. The week after clinic visits is the worst. Rob feels bad from the medication and can be very emotional and nasty. It is the only time he ever asks, "Why me?" The rest of the month he is a happy 10 year old boy. This medicine also causes him to have the itches, which are usually at night. The lack of sleep also does wonders for the attitude. Rob is counting down the days for Christmas! He can't wait! School is going pretty well. Brandi has started tutoring him once a week to give me a break. Math is causing some bad grades, hopefully Brandi will be able to help with those. Also I'd like to remind every one to save their pop or beer tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. It is a wonderful place for the families of some children who are in the hospital for long periods. Thanks again for always including Rob in your prayers and on a bright note we are on the countdown, ONLY 13 MORE MONTHS OF CHEMO!!!!!!!!! |
