| Drowning in darkness I stood, a face in the shadows And I looked at my hand. It was frozen and trembling. It wouldn't stop. I looked across the hall to where the light met the shadows And then died. A mirror reflected what light managed to survive And I saw my face. My face was in the shadows And was going to remain trapped there Until I helped it I looked in the mirror right past me Right into an area called emptiness. I looked past the emptiness And found a window. I opened the window and felt nature push me away As if it weren't safe. But i stood there I stood, a face in the shadows Ready to take on the world. |
