The door opens and Kyleigh actually... um... -skips- out and lets the door close behind her. Thankfully there's one of those sitting rooms though and Neelkan's the only one in it so she doesn't have to worry about betraying her image as 'Amalthea' just her image as Cactus Novice of the White Tower. She skips over to Neelkan, uh... beaming, and says, "I'm ready now. Do you remember what's next on the schedule?" Ack! Kyleigh -forgot- something?? Ms. Amazing Memory Girl? Well she's a little distracted at the moment. She'll probably remember in a sec, given half a chance. Uh... Uh... Neelkan peers at the girl and for a few moments wonders if the /real/ Princess showed up and took her place. He actually grabs her hands to check. Nope. It's Ky. But she's acting all funny. "Did Wyn slip somethin' in yer drink?" he asks in a confused voice, but then immediately goes to the subject at hand. What is next? "I think we're supposed t' go get ya somethin' t' eat." Or at least, he wants something to eat. Whether she does or not is no consideration. He's not good with things like schedules, so he's the bad person to ask. Kyleigh blinks as he grabs her hands, but instead of snapping his head off or even scowling she just laughs and extracts her hands from his grip. Even elated she's still not into the whole touching bit, especially since he's a guy. Otherwise she might do something even wierder like... make him dance around the room with her. c.c So let's all be grateful she's keeping her hands to herself. "Nope," she says cheerfully. "She did something even better." Oh! Food! Can she please pig out now? They haven't let her have anything fun to eat since she started this charade, arguing that she only just barely fit into Amalthea's wardrobe anyway. Not that she's fat, just... voluptous, something she would change if she possibly could, but not at the expense of forgoing sweets. Sniffle. "Alright. That works. Let's just hope we don't run into that Alyester." She -really- doesn't like that man. "We can hope." Neelkan repeats lightly, still watching her out of the side of his eye for something that Wyn might have done to make her this happy. If she were a guy he might suspect that.. um... better left un-thought, but he /is/ a bandit, and guys did tend to be really happy afterwards. As far as he noticed. (He isn't included in this though, of course). He leads the way towards the kitchen, dropping into silence mode again. He's been getting used to this whole 'speak when needed' thing lately. Weird, huh? That is wierd. And strangely disturbing. Kyleigh keeps glancing over at him, and finally can't help herself. "Well?? Aren't you going to ask what she did?" And uh... who says she has to be a guy in order to- ok, probably best not to go there, especially considering that Wyntere is now her mother, with at least one child that she actually gave birth to, and a male Gaidin who she's in love with and all that jazz. Still... considering Kyleigh's opinion of men... the thought isn't that far fetched. Ahem. Anyway. ;) Wyn never seemed much of a pillow-friend to her students to Ky, so he isn't going to think that way. She always seemed so motherly, so his own assumption probably isn't that far off. Neelkan glances over, eyebrows raising into his hairline as he looks down at her for a few moments, then he shrugs, "A'right, what happened? Though seems like yer gonna tell m' anyway." Women are so weird. Angry and cynical one minute, hyper and happy the next. Bah. Kyleigh giggles. Yes, she actually giggles. It's wierd. "She adopted me!" As they step out into the hall she quiets her voice a little, but there's really no quelling the beaming expression on her face. She's so happy she could sing! Er... but let's not ok? We don't want to get any dogs barking. Yup. He was right. See! Neelkan's smart after all. Though he has no idea why that would make someone so happy. But then, look at his own mother and family. It's part of the reason he will never call Kaomi or Wyn 'Mother' it would be an insult coming from him if he did! He thinks that giving someone's name is more respectful then a title. A little skewed, but then he was never exactly the most normal. "Uh, well.. I'm glad she's not mad at ya." At his lack of enthusiasm, Kyleigh falls back into her old habits and scowls at him. "Is that all you have to say?" Hrmph! "You have less tact than -I- do." Which is saying a lot! No, she won't let him ruin her good mood. Kyleigh Shar. It has such a nice ring to it. Much better than Mandeldoran. "Oh well. I wouldn't expect a -man- to understand." And with most people that would be teasing, but she's dead serious. It's not that she doesn't like him as a person. She actually trusts him with her life and kind of likes him in a wierd way, but he's a guy, which is automatically a mark against him. And unlike -some- people who -claim- to dislike the other gender... she really isn't very fond of guys. But having spent so much time with her he probably already knows that by now. Hey, is that close to Mandelorian? *duck* "Of course I wouldn't understand." Neelkan grumbles. "I don't think people /my/ age need 'mothers', so /there/." Hrmpt! Not that he's that much older then she is. "'sides, I loath women, 'n mothers e'en more." But Wyn is alright. She's gained fluke status, along with the very few (almost all Aes Sedai) women also claiming of that rare and special status. It basically means they're far enough set apart from the typical female that he no longer hates them. And he really does hate women!! Honest! Why doesn't anyone believe him...? Whimper. "So what d'ya wanna eat 'xactly?" Actually, it is close to Mandelorian but *BAP!* And to be precise, he's a year older than she is. :P Kyleigh arches an eyebrow at him as he says he loathes women and just smirks slightly. She knows better. If he loathed them he would never have helped her, or he would have helped her and then left her to her own devices or helped her and *shiver* let's not go into that. Kyleigh -knows- what men do when they -really- hate women, so no, Neelkan doesn't fool her in the slightest. "I want... a steak, with that cream sauce I saw them putting on it the other day," u.u the cream sauce they said she couldn't have, "and a big glass of milk," (Muahahaha) "And anything else I can get my hands on." A guy can hate women without killing or doing anything bad to them. Can't they? Neelkan is convinced so, so let's just leave it at that. He continues to walk beside her, grumping a little bit as her good mood isn't helping /his/ any. But when she says what food she wants he raises his eyebrows, then choaks a little but at the mention of a beverage. "Er.. uh.. wouldn't ya rather have cider? Ye'h. Cider!" Cider is so much better then milk. Huh? Why should he care what she drinks? Surely he wouldn't be afraid of milk. (Sorry, Kyleigh is a very smart cookie... milk... cookie... get it? ;)) 'Amalthea' grins at him, looking just slightly bemused. "Do you have issues with milk, Neelkan?" This is not good. Now she knows one of your weaknesses, and she's been known to exploite those to their full extent... and they're coming up on the kitchen now... Of course, Kyleigh has her own issues which are just as easily exploited... so maybe considering the glass house she's living in she should keep her stones to herself, but that's never been very fun. And no, men who hate women are bad, evil creatures. Neelkan is a cute fluffy puppy with sharp teeth, which is not the same thing at all. Hey! That isn't fair! Neelkan growns and bares those same sharp teeth and says, "NO! I just don't like it! Lay off, Ky." She's mean. Women are cruel and evil and made him the man he is today!! Grrr. He doesn't throw anything mean her direction though, instead he immediately grabs the closest cook and says, "Get m' a plate with a steak with cream sause 'n.. 'n.. uh.." Arg. Does he have to say it. "...milk..." There. It's said. "'n a second plate with some bread 'n cheese. 'n some apple cider." So they might think the smaller plate is for the 'Princess'. Yes, he definately had milk issues. That's very strange. She's going to have to study this. (Letting a Brown, or at least a Brown hopeful know that you have something to hide is generally not a good idea. They're too curious by nature.) She smiles at the cook and straightens a little and just generally looks imperious and innocent while Neelkan puts in their orders. Now what are a Princess and her Royal Bodyguard doing in the kitchen getting their food? Can't they have servants bring it up to them? Yes, but Amalthea prided herself on keeping an ear to the 'common folk' and so their being down here isn't that big of a deal. Once the cook is gone she asks quietly. "So what happened? Did you get some up your nose once?" That would certainly be painful, but as far as she can tell wouldn't totally account for a milk phobia... Waaaaaaii!!!! "I don't wanna bloody talk 'bout it, burn it!!" Neelkan actually yells at her, hands going to his head as if to ward off even the thought of the white substance. She is so freaking unfair. Grrr. Um... and yes, servents in the kitchen, the Royal Bodyguard just yelled at the Princess. *gasp!* *shock!* What is wrong in the world when a Royal Bodyguard yells at his Princess. Looks like this mission hasn't changed Neelkan completely after all... Kyleigh arches an eyebrow at him, because she kind of has to. What she really wants to do is laugh, but she has an authority and a reputation to maintain here. She keeps her voice low, but makes the expression on her face a good imitation of how she would look if she was chastizing him for raising his voice to her, not to mention cursing! That's actually not too far off from what she is doing, but she does it in terms of the charade and not with any actual authority. "Neelkan! Do you want to blow our cover?? You can't say things like that to a Princess." She ponders threatening to send him back, but decides against it. 1. Because he might actually decide he'd rather go back. and 2. Because she really doesn't want him to go back. She feels (and probably is) -much- safer with him there. "Then don't ask 'bout things 'at obviously make m' uncomfortable, burn it." Neelkan grumbles, looking even more grumpy and even crossing his hands over his chest. She's so freaking mean and unfair. Not even near being a fluke! And if she did threaten, he probably would go. The Aes Sedai can take care of her after all. But it's a good thing she doesn't, yup. Ha! Like she -wants- to be a fluke? No way! She thoroughly enjoys her reputation as the most prickly novice in White Tower history. Kyleigh smirks again and says, "Oh I see. You can'd handle a little needling. I'll try to be more careful of your delicate feelings in the future." Oh she's evil. Defiantely evil, and this is her in a -good- mood too... maybe it was better before Wyntere made her happy. The cook returns with their food and she pretends to absent mindedly take the steak one, which makes the man blink, but the blank and innocent look on her face convinces him that she's just confused, and not actually planning on eating that one. She also takes the tall glass of milk and sips it noisily, just to aggravate Neelkan. Taking the other plate, Neelkan leans over and growls at the girl -- very softly, "I ne'er asked ya why ya wanted t' leave the Tower, so if ya don't mind, stop bein' a total bitch 'r you won't've t' worry 'bout 'at man comin' t' kill ya." Was that a threat? Well, yes, but a totally unfounded one. "Now take m' plate 'n we'll trade when we get back t' yer room." He acts as if that's the whole reason he bent over to speak to her. "But ya can keep yer drink." Bitch. Kyleigh blinks and looks down at the plate before looking with chagrin at the cook and switching with him. Then she turns on her heel and tries really hard not to talk out of the kitchen, but doesn't do a very good job on that score. Once they're out and the door is safely closed behind them she whirls around, sploshing a little milk onto one of her gloves. "And just what the flame is that supposed to mean? You want to kill me? Go ahead. Take that stupid, pansy ass fan of yours and stick it in my heart. Here, I'll make it easier for you." She sets plate and drink down. "Give it to me and -i'll- do it." Her green eyes snap and flash at him, her mood doing a complete reversal. So what if she deserved it? She's not thinking about that right now. "Yer crazy, ya know 'at." Neelkan grumbles and growls. "What the bloody Light did ya 'xpect? M' t' hug ya 'n /thank/ ya f'r makin' fun of m'? F'r takin' a /personal/ 'n delicate subject 'n trivalizin' it! Ya have no flamin' idea 'bout m', so don't try t' learn! 'cause as soon as yer back in the Tower 'n safe, I don't want anythin' t' d' with ya!" Sorry, she may not realize but she's hurt his feelings a great deal the last few minutes. And he doesn't have the self control to keep from saying things he might regret later. "But I certainly 'm not gonna kill ya, 'r let ya kill yerself. Yer Mom would kill /me/." How true. Sigh. Kyleigh used to be totally incorrigible and stubborn and pig headed, and before this little adventure she probably would have shruged it off and told herself she didn't give a flying flame whether she'd emotionally wounded anyone, but... well she really didn't intend to this time, not that she feels guilty! She just... Ok, so she feels a little guilty. "I'm," grimace, "sorry." Can a fluke be the mother of a non-fluke? That certainly is a little strange. Once she's said it though she actually feels a little better. So she says it again, "I'm sorry, ok? I didn't realize it was that big of a deal." I mean who's afraid of -milk-?? That's just funny. But she has the tact not to actually say that. "Whate'er." Neelkan mutters, shrugging his shoulders, feeling a little weird about having made a big deal about it, though to him, it is. "Just don't ask m' personal things, a'right? I'm 'ere t' protect ya, not entertain ya." Wait, isn't he supposed to be here for both? "Now eat yer food." He settles down the plate that was meant for her and takes his own plate and moves to find a seat where he can pick at the bread and cheese. "Whatever?? Whatever?! I just apologized to you and you say 'whatever'??" Oh that is so not cool, dude. She doesn't apologize every day you know. "You know what, forget it. I don't want your food. I don't want your protecting. I don't want anything to do with you. I'd rather lock myself in Spike's cell." Kyleigh turns on her heel and stalks away from the plate and glass still sitting on the floor where she set them. The 'evil' glass of milk. "I was tryin' not t' make a big deal of it! Blood 'n ashes, yer the most flamin' confusing woman I have e'er met!" And that's saying a lot. "Yer not leavin' 'is room, burn it." Neelkan moves after her towards the door in an attempt to beat her to it, or at least grab her arm if he can. "Just shut up 'n sit down 'n stop actin' like a brat! 'r I'll tell the Palace guards 'at the Princess needs t' b' restrained f'r her own protection." Mean, ain't he? Well, turn about is fairplay. She was /very/ mean to him. Kyleigh gasps as he grabs her arm, her eyes blazing furiously as she tries to jerk it away from him. "How dare you touch me! -I'm- acting like the brat?? You're the one who couldn't even accept a flaming apology! Let me go or I'll scream and tell them you were attacking me!" Two can play at that game! Yes, she was mean, but she apologized! And she didn't mean to be mean! Grrr! Men! "Yes! Ya are!!" Neelkan jerks her arm a little bit, not letting go of it this time. "I 'ccepted the 'pology, just not the flamin' way ya wanted! Now will ya stop actin' like 'is 'n sit down!? 'r d' ya want m' t' call yer mommy 'n tell 'er t' make ya behave!" Grrrr. He really won't be able to keep this up much longer. And they'd been getting along so well, until she pestered him about the milk. Kyleigh's mouth falls open and she just stares at him for a moment, actually looking like she might... um... cry. c.c "Let. Me. Go. You're hurting my arm." Her voice is tight, the kind of tone that indicates tears being held back, and no she's not the type to cry at physical pain. She's very used to that by now. Of course.. now that her arm -is- hurting, she could just channel at him, but she doesn't want to have to do that. She's a big fan of doing things the hard way. Green eyes continue to blaze at him fiercely, but they're watering a little which makes for a very strange, and interesting combination. As soon as she says that, Neelkan's hand drops. Yup. That's all she had to say. That he was hurting her. The watery eyes adds even more extra points. Damn woman. "Fine." He turns away and heads deeper into the room. Yup. He's going to let her leave. What other choice does he really have? She doesn't want to be around him anymore, and the feeling is entirely mutual. As soon as his back is turned the door slams and she's gone. Even if she hadn't wanted to leave before her own tears sealed it. Kyleigh isn't normally a crying kind of girl, which is why it's strange that she would do it (or almost do it anyway) twice in one day. Maybe it's just been an emotional rollercoaster ride. Since the first time she was attacked she wants to be alone, or at least away from Neelkan.
