Practice Yard, White Tower, Tar Valon Hard packed earth is ringed in by a plain wooden fence. Daily the practice area is maintained by the pounding of young men's feet, as they are ran about the yard or set to forms. Towards the left hand side of the yard the thud of arrows hitting targets can be heard. The right is devoted to racks full of practice weapons and armor. Throughout the day the harsh voices of Gaidin urging the boys to work faster, stronger, harder can be heard. At night the silence is almost eerie as only the cicadas come out to play their nocturnal commentary. A three story building is at the end of the hall, providing a place for the trainees to live. A set of iron stairs up to the door is a favorite meeting spot for some of the boys, to sit and rest when such things are granted. Often they can be seen catching a meal there, to avoid wrinkled noses and sniffs from young ladies unaccustomed to the sweat and grime they daily generate. Carefully balanced on one foot, Tamon moves himself unsteadly into the beginning of Heron Wades. He's not that great with a sword, but he can use one fairly well. And so he needs more practice if he's to become Gaidin. And he will become Gaidin. Bah. Who wants to be a Gaidin? Not this trainee, or at least that's what he would like people to believe. Neelkan wanders out into the practice yard. He pauses in his walking and glances around the yard, as if looking for a certain someone. Whoever he was looking for, he doesn't see, so grumbles a few curses about milk and starts to move towards a weapon rack when he recognizes one of the people practicing forms. That weird guy who mentioned his fan. Hrm. Blue-green eyes narrow and he heads closer to watch. Well, its obvious that Tamon needs the practice as he starts to moves through the forms. He's moving quickly, but he's often just a tad off the mark and other things like that. Oh, this is sad. He can't watch anymore. Swords aren't his favorite weapon, really, give him his fan any day, but Neelkan just can't help it. He clears his throat loudly enough to be heard and makes a comment, "Yer o'er swingin' a lil 'ere, pal." Tamon swings around in Lightening of the Three Prongs right down Neelkan's side, never once getting close enough to actually hit the boy. "Thank you, Neelkan." He says with a smile that /does/ touch his eyes. "I prefere my hands to a sword." Now, a really cool guy would just stand there as the sword blazes past, but Neelkan has a few faults, and one of them is that he doesn't like to stand still when things are moving towards him. Especially weapons. Call it a habit from living with a big sister who flung logs at his head (though he rarely attempts to dodge those. He'd just get hit more if he did). He jerks the other direction really quick, then settles down and realizes it wasn't even aimed for him. "Uh... ye'h. Me too." Tamon chuckles softly as he sets the sword aside. "I'm sorry about that, Neelkan." He says as he holds out a hand. "I can't remember if I told you or not last time we met, I'm Tamon." "Tamon, 'eh? Nice t' meet ya." Neelkan glances down at the hand a moment, then shrugs and reaches out to take it. "So 're ya a trainee 'ere? Or just practicin'?" He hasn't heard of any rules against non-trainees practicing in the yards after all. Tamon smiles, "I'm a Trainee now." he says with a grin. "A proven, as it turns out." He says, giving the hand a firm shake. "I wasn't all myself on our last meeting either, by the way. I hope you won't hold it against me." He smiles again. "A proven 'eh? 'at makes ya at a level with m' 'en." Neelkan shrugs his shoulders, taking the hand back and smirking lightly in response to the smile given. Though at the mention of not being himself he looks a little confused. "We're ya someone else 'en?" No, he's not stupid, he just has seen some weird things since he got here... Though stupid might be what people would think from the question. Tamon chuckles softly. "I ment that I wasn't acting myself, Neelkan." He says with another smile. He's never smiled this much in his life. "I hope that you won't hold it against me?" "Ah. I just thought 'at maybe..." Neelkan shrugs, discarding the thought and the statement that would have come with it. "Ya d' seem a lot different." Much more smiling. And actually speaking in a friendly manner and such. Definately different. Though he still hasn't really answered the question. Tamon chuckles softly and shakes his head. "No, I had just arrived from a long journey. And had some bad advice along the way." he says as he smiles again. "Bad advice 'at told ya t' go 'round mentionin' m' fights with the Asha'cor?" Neelkan asks, looking away from the dark haired youth near him. He runs a hand through his hair and looks mildly frustrated. Which for him means he's really not that frustrated. If he were, anyone would see it a mile away. Tamon laughs. "No, that I should be all cold and insulting. Don't know /why/ I listened to that little..." He trails off. "Anyways, being that both of us like to use our hands, what say we get some practice in?" "Cold 'n insultin', eh?" Neelkan chuckles softly. Yes, that definately sounds like the Tamon he met before this whole change happened. "Don't see why ya listened t' 'im either, but 'at's yer pro'lem." At the offer of a little hands on practice he glances around one last time, then nods, "Don't see why not. Though I hope ya won't take it personal 'en I beat yer dark head int' the ground." He smirks, though doesn't really sound as if he was joking. Tamon smiles, just at the edges of his mouth. "As long as you don't take it personal when I send you for some flying lessons." He says as he moves towards a practice circle. "Ya'd have t' touch m' first." Neelkan says with a grin, then moves to follow after, stretching out his arms a little as he does in preperation. Along with cracking his knuckles a little. This should be fun. Tamon moves into a ready posistion and stands there. He nods to Neelkan, ready. He smirks, just a bit. This /is/ going to be fun. Yeah, the big question is, who's gonna be left smirking when this is over... Ahem. Neelkan rolls his shoulders one last time and then watches his stance for a second. He's waiting for the red head to attack first. Good. Neelkan likes to get in the first hit. His eyes narrow a little, then he starts moving forward quickly, aiming a punch at face level, which me means to follow up after a quick twist with a side kick to around rib level on the right side. Tamon steps to the right, moving away from the coming side kick and grabs Neelkan's wrist to pull him froward. He twists and slips a leg between Neelkan's and goes to push his shoulder, to help him in what's to hopefully become a flight for the ground. Erk. It's kind of sad. The extent of Neelkan's training in Unarmed isn't that bad, but he's never had to fight someone /this/ much better then him before. Eyes widening at such an easy dodge, he tries to twist his wrist out of the grip but that only causes him to loose his balance more so when the push happens he's not balanced enough to hold himself in place and goes down backwards with a loud grunt and a little bit of dust. Not to mention a decent distance away. He immediately starts to get up, using a hand to clear hair out of his eyes and mutters, "Ya got lucky." He makes no move to attack again quite yet, recovering from the fall no doubt. Sunan bounces - yes, bounces- into the Practice Yard, his strides taking him along a 5 foot zig-zag. Looking forward to the new day's learninghe displays an enthusiasm few students do at this hour. Tamon jumps forward quickly, his foot coming up and sharp towards Neelkan's face. that's about it, there's no serious follow up to a jump kick. Or... not. Aparanetly that wasn't a lucky shot. Neelkan is still stunned from the flight to the ground, so when the kick moves toward him, he doesn't really have enough time to dodge fully. He jumps back enough to miss the full impact of the foot, which would have likely broken his jaw and his nose, but still gets hit good enough in the chin to jar his teeth pretty good and cause him to fall back /again/ to the ground in the dust. And he doesn't notice the enthusastic trainee, but that can easily be blamed of the fact that he's pushing himself off the ground /again/ and spitting a little blood out of his mouth as he gets up, the side of his cheek having been caught between his teeth. This time though, he tries to go straight into an attack, running forward with apparently the intent just to ram the other guy in the chest with his shoulder. No one ever said he was the smartest fighter in the world. Tamon shakes his head as he steps aside and sticks out his foot. Really! You can't be /that/ stupid. Sunan catches sight of Neelkan. He stares for a moment, then looks up to his... spar partner. Really, that's excessive. He almost closes his eyes, trying tnot to guess at what's going to happen to his brother next. Ouch. Sure he can. Though you can blame his sister if you want. She used his head for target practice more then once. That should explain most of his intelligence problems. But anyway, Neelkan isn't /that/ stupid though (really!), at the absolute last second he jumps in his charge, over the leg, and swings his body around, throwing his arm in the momentum aiming the side of his wrist at the upper part of the young man's neck. Okay, that was a surprise. Tamon goes down with the hit, and with a gurnt. He rolls accros the ground and comes up, spinning around and looking for Neelkan. Why won't his eye's focus right now? Sunan can't help but get a grin now. Despite his intentions of training, he seems quite satisfied to watch this juicy spectacle. He even takes a seta on a nearby bench! Kick his ass, Neelkan! Wohoo! Neelkan makes a little cheer when he manages to actually hit the guy, and reaches up to thumb away a little more blood from his lip while grinning, "Yer actually pretty good. I see why 'ey put ya right in Proven." Taking the time to get a little cocky, and compliment the guy? Well, it's just a sparring match, right? So what if it seemed for a bit that Tamon was taking it a little too seriously. After giving him a few moments of recovery time during his cockyness and complimenting, he moves forward again, not a running assualt this time, but not exactly strolling over either, and aims a simple twisting kick at the young man's ribs. Pretty much the exact same kick he tried earlier. Tamon side-steps and knocks the foot aside with nearly contempt as he twists the other way with a round-hous kick for Neelkan's ribs, which snaps back before it lands and turns into a side kick for his chest, that is aimed for a full hit, though he'll snap it back on way or another and spin around for a wheel kick at Neelkan's shoulder. Shoulder, cause to hit his head would mean death for the guy. Nice that Tamon isn't trying to kill him. He rather likes his life, thanks. Neelkan's eyes widen and once again he flies backwards a few feet, and this time it sounds like something was at least fractured. He doesn't stay down though, pushing himself up with a loud grunt and a grumble, growling painfully, "Blood 'n ashes, yer really makin' m' mad." No attack, he's just gonna stand up this time around. Sunan winces. Ouch. The crunching sound that passes through his ears certainly sounds like it would hurt. He wodners if sparring with this guy would be a bad idea. Tamon doesn't attack either. "That didn't sound good, Neelkan." He says as he stops the attack. "I think it's time we stopped." Stopping would probably be the smart thing to do here, but Neelkan's pride is a little more fractured then whatever did get jarred wrong in that last hit and fall. He looks really, really mad. Probably the madest he's ever been since he got here. He's never been tossed around like a yard dummy before. His eyes narrow more, growing a little darker, then suddenly with a loud growl he's moving. But that would really be an understatement. More like one second he was standing there, the next in streaks and blurs of red and white and gray he's moving towards Tamon and aiming a punch square at the young man's face. Tamon jumps back as Neelkan comes at him again. He's not ready for /that/. His hand comes up in an attempt to block the punch he can see, but it still manages to graze accross his face and spin him around. He rolls away and turns around, ready for another attack if necessary. Sunan stares. He's NEVER seen anything move like that before. The Fades at Dorelle Caromon came close, but they were illusions! Nothing has ever blurred, to his eyes, but that did!He doens't even note he's not the onlyn one wtaching... Because of all the momentum behind the punch, Neelkan can't fully recover from it, and it certainly doesn't help that the side-effect of the ter'angreal is sudden weakness. He settles down though and stops moving in that blurry fashion and then immediately drops to his knees, breathing heavily. No, the ter'angreal isn't really all that helpful when it only lasts a few seconds and drains the person using it. Palms press against the ground, and he lowers his head a little. He's apparently finished now. Maybe his pride demanded the last hit. Tamon rubs his jaw and as he walks over to help Neelkan up. "Remind me not to do that anymore." He says as he goes to help the kid. Sunan stands. He certainly wants to know what THAT was. Scurrying over to Neelkan, he reaches him at about the same time Tamon does. "Are you alright, Neelkan? What happened? Are you okay?" He'll help him up too, if he can. "I'll try t' 'member... Not lookin' forward t' ya repeatin' 'at m'self." Neelkan mutters, jerking away from the offer up and stands on his own, but looks as if he might fall back down again, and he also seems in pain. He glances at Sunan, as if surprised there were other people here. For a while he forgot that the Practice Yard was a fairly public place. He was too caught up in the spar. "I'm fine, Sunan. I just need t' sit down f'r a while..." He coughs a little, and then starts to move towards the Living Area a little unsteadily. Tamon grabs his arm. "No, you need to walk right over to where those nice Yellow sisters will get you patched up. I heard the snap, Neelkan. You won't be able to go through much tomarrow if you don't get it looked at, and your sister would /kill/ me." Sunan coughs. He thinks those Sisters will be interested in a bit more than Healing him. "Ah.. I think you should watch your tongue with them. If you use the language you usually do, you may be in trouble." He hopes he picked up on the veiled warning. Um... Neelkan stops midstep and stares straight ahead. His... sister? Tamon knows his sister? As in, Aidou? The only one of his five sisters in this city? He kept walking at the mention of seeing the Yellows, but it was the /sister/ mention that haulted him in his tracks. He twists around moving /very/ slowly (especially when compared to how he moved a few moments ago) and just stares at Tamon. Then he glances at Sunan as if confused whatever the young boy could mean. The Yellows already dispise him more then not... He struggles with something for a few minutes, then grumbles a few of that language that Sunan mentioned on and starts to move towards the main tower, only to stop and turn, saying to Tamon, "We're gonna have a talk later." With that, he continues to stagger slightly in the direction of the Yellows and their healing hands and inane questions. Light he hopes Espi is on duty in there. Tamon nods. Great, here he goes trying to be the boy's freind and he flipping mentiones Aidou right after trying to kill him. Great start, Tamon. He heads for barracks. One of those Yellows pops her head up, eyes widening. Quite a few SAes Sedai do. Soon there are shouts of a man channeling, and to have the City Sealed off. Tamon blinks at all the shouting and such. This isn't right! He looks around. "Uh..." Coming to a hault after a second, Neelkan glances at the sounds of the shouting and runs a hand through his hair, before moving on. No, he's not dismissing it or anything, he just knows he's going to have to sit down very soon of he's not going to make it all the way to the infirm. Healing would probably not be a good idea right now either, until he's had a chance to rest.
