08/08/2000 Sixth Floor, White Tower, Tar Valon Young women in plain white dresses move in and out of tiny white doors with names written on them. The hall here is plain wood, scrubbed to a shine. Candles, not balls of the Power, light the way. A few notes -- reminders to the girls -- can be seen posted here. There is also a schedule of assigned chores on a chalkboard in the middle of the hall giving the roster for each day. Girls periodically walk up and check it, only to walk away grumbling. The air smells clean, like soap and water, mostly. It is somewhat stuffy and cramped up here, however, and hot, in this highest area of the Tower. Espi is the first to the doorway of the girl's room. She heaves a heavy sigh, now that she's actually here and moves to look at the door. "Warded...just a moment while I deal with those." Glancing around, Neelkan is walking as stealthfully as possible, looking around a few times as if ready to duck into a room if he has to so that no one sees him, a Trainee, up here in the Novice area. And if they do... well he'll say that he was told to come here and help Espi carry some things! Yeah... that'll work. He glances over at the mention of a ward and nods. "A'right." He has no idea what a ward is... but if she can handle it, then he'll let her. Espiria makes a few small motions with her hands, head tipping to one side. Good..she did retain this at least and smiles as she slips inside. "Come on Neel...just a quick peek. I'm not sure how long that will hold before I have to do it again." Niglite's Room, White Tower, Tar Valon Wards have been placed over the doorway to this small novice room. As you enter, the place looks a mess. Chairs are on their sides and the bed has wrinkles in it as if their was a struggle here. The young girl's body has been removed to keep from smelling up the novice hallways. Shelves are still lined with the young girl's things upon them. There are plus views here for those to look around to investigate. By order, everything in the room must remain how you found it as evidence against the murderer. For those wishing to RP an investigation scene...pretend to look around. There is a shalf that hasn't been dusted lined with tiger figurines. There are two spots in the dust marking that two of the figurines are missing. Also, near the bed, upon the floor, are many small pieces of tangerine orange fabric. Just a quick peek? Neelkan nods and slips inside as well, looking around the room carefully to see what all he can see. He glances at the mess in the room and mumbles, "Looks like she fought back at least." then goes to bend down, looking over things at a closer perspective, though he doesn't touch anything, or move anything. He's just looking. Hrrrm. Espiria shivers as she looks around, nodding as she sighs. "Poor child. Who would do such a thing to her." She shakes her head, glancing at various things before she notes the lack of dust on the shelf. "Hmm..That's odd. Come here and take a look at this." She motions to the shlef, eyes remaining of the lack of dust where the figurines are. "Looks like something was removed." "I don't know why someone would do 'is t' a girl either. It's unexcuseable." He hopes they get hung. Neelkan pushes himself up into a standing position and moves over to where the dust is lacking on the undusted shelf. He peers at the statues for a moment and ponders silently, "Well, I don't know why a murderer would remove two statues, unless 'at's what 'ey killed 'er with. Maybe 'ere was somethin' special 'bout 'ose two...?" Espiria hmms softly and lifts a shoulder. "I don't know, Neel. It's just odd for them to be missing and it's obvious that they were here before or esle more of the dust would be moved." She rubs her chin, flicking some hair from her face. Nodding, Neelkan makes a mental note of it (though the reliablity of such a mental note is slim indeed...), then goes back to looking around the room, careful not to step on anything, keeping his vision on the floor in front of him, as well as around him. He glances at the bed, and the state of the covers and ponders silently for a moment, then he bends down and sees the little bits of fabric on the ground. He may not be the brightest star in the sky, but he's good when it comes to spotting things. "'ey... what 'bout 'is?" Espiria lifts a brow and turns away from her studing of the shelf. She heads over to Neel and smiles, glancing down to the fabric for a moment before she shrugs, "Hmm...Looks like someone had something with color in the room. Maybe some pieces of material got pulled from whomever was in here?" She frowns, rubbing her chin in thought. "Not sure who would have that kind of thing though, unless maybe the novice had something she shouldn't have? Maybe..something from a parent?" She scowls then, sighing. "Oh...I can't think of anything, Neel. I mean..it just seems so senseless. There's no reason or..logic in what has happened." Well... 'is happened 'en all the Sedai were stuck in Novice dresses, wasn't it? Neelkan ponders silently, actually attempting to use his brain for a few moments. He leans down a little closer, narrowing his eyes at the fabric. As if trying to see something else, then he stands up and shrugs. "How much longer d' we got f'r at ward kicks back in?" Espiria glances over to the door, heading over there for a moment before she grins, "It's got some time left on it." She heads over to the novice's closets, head tipping to one side before she hmms. "Maybe you should take a peek under the bed? See if there is anything there?" "Oh. A'right..." Neelkan moves back to get on the floor again, careful not to nudge any of the fabric pieces and looks under the bed to see... Oooooooooooh. Books. "Looks like someone was doin' some readin'. Prolly just sappy romances." He shrugs and stands up again, rolling his shoulders. Though his mind did latch on briefly to one of the titles. So perhaps it'll come to him later exactly what he saw on it. But then again... this is Neelkan... and he's not the world's most fluent reader... Espiria frowns slightly, shaking her head. "And nothing here either. I just don't understand any of this, Neel. This room...it feels...umm..I don't know. Odd." She scowls, looking around again. "We should get out of here while we can. But I just can't figure out what's bothering me about this. Like..I should know, but I just can't quite put my finger on it." She sighs, heading for the door and checking the thing she did before she nods to Neel. "Yeah..we need to get out..." She motions you to go first, watching the thing she did with a careful eye. Neelkan nods a little at the talk of feeling odd, adding in a brief, "I flamin' know what ya mean." Before he ducks out the door and looks around quickly, making sure that there isn't some evil Red waiting to pounce on him as soon as he steps past the doorway. Then he glances back at Espi, waiting for her to exit before saying, "So what now?" "Well..I hope that the Aes Sedai can find something out, because I'm frankly at a loss." "I'm sure 'ey will." Neelkan honestly didn't come up to the room expecting to solve it all . He agreed for the most part because it was against the rules!! And because it might take your mind off... well... you know... He puts a hand on your elbow gently and says, "E'erythin'll be a'right. Wyn'll find who did 'is, 'n he'll be punished." Yup. Neelkan's sure it's a man... Go figure... Espiria sighs softly, shaking her head. "Well..let's get out of here before someone happens by." She glances over to you and sighs, "You know what I could go for right now? A lesson in using my fan." She chuckles and glances over to you and the gentle hand on her arm. She beams a relieved smile to you, nodding. "I know she will. She cares too much for all the girls not let this one slip by." "A'right. A lesson sounds like a good idea t' me. I haven't been able t' give ya a full one in a while." Neelkan squeezes your elbow slightly, and nods to the bit about Wyn, before heading in the direction of the Roof, assuming that is where you are going to want your lesson. He doesn't have his fan with him, but that doesn't mean he can't teach you how to use your own. Espiria shakes her head quickly, "No..Let's not do it here. Let's take it to the grove again. I don't feel right doing it here with everyone so on edge." She glances down the stairs for a moment, frowning. "Eyes will be watching thing svery carefully and I'd rather not add to what's happening." She sighs, "Hmm..How about I go get my fan..and you go grab yours and we meet at the Grove?" The Grove?... Neelkan pauses, then nods. "A'right." The Grove is private enough, 'n it will give him the chance to get his fan. He blinks and then pokes you lightly in the side, "Yer supposed t' carry 'at with ya, Espi. But a'right. Go 'head. I'll meet ya out 'ere, a'right?" He pauses, then adds with a grin, "'n I promise not t' scare ya." He even winks before moving to head down the stairs. Espiria chuckles softly, waiting till you are out of sight before hurrying down herself.
