08/06/2000 Courtyard, The White Tower, Tar Valon Marble tiles gleam from a straight path which leads from the Gates of the Tower to the wide double doors which announce its entry point. Soft grass and well planned patches of flowers can be found to either side, with the occasional shady tree. Accepted and novices sit on stone benches, some practicing their Power to the dismay of uneasy petitioners passing through. To the side there is a stable, near the fenced entrance to the clearly visible yard where shirtless boys go through sword forms through the day. Guards take the weapons of those wanting to enter, though the Gaidin spread about the courtyard, seemingly about their leisure, look ready to pounce on any men who "forgot" a dagger at the gates. Aes Sedai pass through on various errands, some nodding to acknowledge bows or curtsies. The atmosphere is busy, but calm. Denn'ryiel, as usual, is tending the Tower's gardens. Kneeling on the ground next to a large group of orange flowers, she sings quietly, and the blossoms uncurl in response. Coming into the Tower gardens, Neelkan weaves through the rows of plants and flowers, looking for a specific person. The sound of a familar voice singing draws him to the right area and he grins as he sees Denn there. He doesn't announce his presense with words, instead moves behind her, his shadow likely visable to her, and reaches his hand down to stick something in front of her face. He went out into the city during his freetime today and picked up a small bundle of flowers for the young woman. Red and yellow flowers to be exact. Denn'ryiel smies a little more now that the flowers before her look much healthier than when she began. Only the best and brightest for the Tower. She stands up and dusts off her skirts with half-effort - she knows she'll be kneeling again soon enough. She starts as the flowers suddenly appear in front of her face. "Wha?!" she turns and almost bumps into Neelkan. "Oh! Neelkan... A pleasant surprise," literally. She brings a hand up to her dirt smudged face with embarrassment. "Did you find those...?" she asks, unable to finish the question. Reaching his other arm up to grab her by the shoulder so she doesn't bump into him, Neelkan offers a small smile. "'ey. Didn't mean t' startle ya." He brings the flowers around again and holds them up towards her, looking a little sheepish for a moment before saying, "I got 'em in the city. 'ey're was 'is booth set up sellin' 'em. I just though 'at since ya like flowers 'n stuff..." He trails off with a shrug. Denn'ryiel tries not to blush, and the dirt on her face helps with concealment. "Thank you, that was very thoughtful," she says, accepting the flowers in a manner no less sheepish than the way they are given; moreso probably. "I guess I should go find a place for these," she says, uncertainly. Once she has them in her hands, Neelkan reaches up to tug on one of his white streaks, then grins and reaches forward picks out a little leaf from her hair and tosses it aside before shrugging. "Whate'er. Yer the expert on flowers, not m'." He never much thought of flowers before. They were plants. They grew. He never really thought more then that. Denn'ryiel blinks until she realizes what Neelkan is doing with her hair. "Well... the basics aren't too hard. Without water, they die. Without food, which they get from dirt, they die," she says with a small smile, looking down at the flowers fondly. Certainly she's seen nicer flowers before, since she grown a few for the Amyrlin and the Mistress of Novices themselves. But it's obvious she apprieciates more than just the bouquet's beauty. "I can attend to these later, I guess, if you want to... talk?" Settling back a little, Neelkan glances around the garden and indeed sees flowers far more pretty then the ones he got, but he doesn't make a comment on that either. He just grabbed those because red is his favorite color, and the yellow ones looked nice with them. He finally gives a small shake and says, "How 'bout I watch while ya attend t' 'em?" Denn'ryiel nods once with a slightly wider smile. "If I'm not pulling you away from something important, I'd like that," she replies. Denn turns around and carefully makes her way out of the garden, keeping her feet away from any of the plants. As soon as she reaches the grass, she turns her head to see if Neelkan will follow her inside. Neelkan comments, "Nawh, I finished m' lessons f'r t'day, 'n don't got any chores 'til later." as she makes the comment about pulling him away from something important. Then he follows behind her a small distance. Denn'ryiel's Room, White Tower, Tar Valon (OOC: Denn'ryiel's room is actually in the Servant's Quarters.) Denn'ryiel's room is rather large for a servant's. A feather bed is against the west wall, facing the east window in order to catch the sun's morning rays. Plants of all variety grow in pots throughout the room. Some of them don't appear to be indoor plants, and a few flowers look completely unique. They all combine to give a rather fragrant aroma, that becomes apparent the moment anyone crosses the threshold into the room. A hearth against the north wall provides warmth during the cold seasons. There's one half-filled book shelf, but nothing else that would interest a Brown Sedai. An oaken drawer with images of leaves carved into it sits next to the window and holds her clothing. The only other furniture in the room are a couple of birch chairs, a changing screen in one corner of the room, and a well made Saferi rug covering the floor near the chairs and door. Denn'ryiel opens the door for Neelkan, and gestures to a chair for him to use with a smile. She then passes by an unused vase and instead goes to select some empty pots (of which there are plenty). She carefully plants the red ones together, taking care not to damage them, and begins singing softly once more. The tune never seems to be the same, and this one doesn't seem to work as well as the others. But eventually, the flowers seem to take to their new environments, and the blossoms deepen in color and become more full. Moving inside, Neelkan just sits down and watches in silence until she seems to be done. When she is he comments, "Ya know, I had t' ask the Master Gaidin if I was 'llowed int' the Servant's Quarters the other day. He said it was a'right, 'long as a 'behaved m'self.'." He seems to find this humorous, then adds, "Ya sing nice, Denn. Is it somethin' with the power 'at makes the plants react t' it like 'ey do? 'ey certainly ne'er react 'en I sing 'r nothin'." He grins, putting his hands on his knees. Denn'ryiel chuckles a little bit and nods. "Sortof... I need the Power to get the process going... like pushing a cart over a hill. Once it starts all I need is my voice though." She then grins back as she gets another pot for the yellow flowers. "You do plan to behave yourself I hope then," she says with a chuckle. "So if ya used the power, 'en anyone's singin' could work it 'long, or just yers?" Probably a good thing that Denn knows how to sing then, huh? That would be kind of a weird power if one can't carry a tune. Neelkan then laughs at the bit about behaving himself and pushes to stand up, moving closer to watch her from less of a distance, "Ya think I wouldn't?" There's that cocky, mischvious smirk of his again... Denn'ryiel shrugs once. "I'm... not sure. Once I begin, the song that's required just comes to me... it's hard to explain. I guess if someone else knew it somehow, it would work for them to." By now she's convinced the yellow flowers to grow new roots as well, and they look just as healthy as the reds. She turns and grins as he moves closer. "You are the most unpredictable person I have ever met, Neelkan. I couldn't begin to guess at what you might do," she replies, with a warm inviting smile. That earns a small laugh and Neelkan reaches up to run fingers through his hair. Though that motion was likely very predictable. "I guess I should take 'at as a compliment 'en?" Then he reaches around her and lightly touches the pedals of the yellow flowers and nods. "Looks like ya knew the right song." He pulls his hand back and lets it rest at his side then. Denn'ryiel chuckles and nods, setting the flowers down upon a dresser. "I meant it as such, yes. The songs... usually are not difficult to come by." The song that encouraged those vines at the battle for instance. She'd rather not think about how that one appeared in her head at just the right time. "Would you like some tea, since you're here?" she asks, uncertain where to take the conversation. "Why not? Yer tea's better 'en the Towers." Neelkan says with in a complementory fashion, then moves away from her to look around the rest of the room. He stops to look at the bed for a moment, reaching down to push on it lightly, feeling the feather matress. He's never seen one like it before. The Inns he would stay at would usually be extremely cheap, and besides that he would sleep in tents of on the floor. "Blood 'n ashes, if 'is is what ya sleep in e'ery night it's no wonder ya were uncomfortable sleepin' on the floor." Meaning of course in the prison. It wasn't that bad for him. His bed in the trainee area is about a soft as a floor after all. Denn'ryiel smiles and nods, and walks over to start preparing the tea. She stiffens as she's about to set the kettle in the fireplace, and begins to blush furiously. "I was uncomfortable because there wasn't enough room to lie down completely," she says as a correction. "I'm surprised my neck isn't still sore from proping it against the wall of the cell. If you ever need a quick nap, you can always use it of course," she says, with a gesture of the head. Neelkan plops down to sit on it, liking the comfort that it gives, then lays back on it with his lower legs still hanging off. "While I 'ank ya f'r the offer, I 'ink m' trainers might consider 'at t' not be 'behavin' m'self'." But while he lays there for a few moments, he then adds, "But 'ey don't have t' know I guess..." Denn'ryiel laughs louder as she adjusts the fire under the kettle. "From what I've heard about trainee activities, if the Gaidin knew the worst you were doing was taking an occaisional nap, they might mutter a praise to the Light." She turns away from the kettle now that it's settled and grins at Neelkan. That causes Neelkan to snicker a little, still laying back on the soft comfortable bed, "Well, 'en 'at cause, I'll be sure t' take ya up on 'at offer sometimes. It's not 'ery easy t' take a nap 'n m' room, seein' as a share it with three others. One of who is Sunan..." Who /always/ has something he wants to talk about... Denn'ryiel pulls a chair up next to the bed and sits down, wincing at the last part. "I imagine things will change as soon as you reach Gaidin," she responds. "They probably have their own rooms, though not many feather beds." Closing his eyes for a time, Neelkan lets out a small sigh and just takes this chance to relax on something that's soft and doesn't hurt his back or anything. "'ey've upped m' trainin' finally, so I don't think it'll take all 'at long t' make it. 'n I can't wait t' have m' own room. I don't like sleepin' 'round people." That's one of the things he truely hated about his time in the Tower. Waking up in the Infirmary with people all over... waking up in his room with Sunan peeking over him... Nope. Much rather sleep alone. Denn'ryiel blushes a little bit. "Odd... for me that was one of the things that gave me strength during our... imprisonment. I didn't have to worry so much about falling asleep, since I knew you wer... you and Verbena were nearby." She lays her hands in her lap, watching over Neelkan while the tea boils. "Well, ya don't have t' worry 'bout wakin' up 'n doin' somethin' embarassin'." Like screaming, or crying, or kicking something... Neelkan was insulted enough times by his older sisters for waking up and doing something of the like that he doesn't like waking up with people. "But I guess I wouldn't mind as much with ya 'n some others..." Now that he's finally /told/ some people about his dreams... He pushes himself up to glance at her, then adds with a slightly serious seeming smile, "But I'm glad t' hear 'at I gave ya some strength..." Denn'ryiel catches the added seriousness, and nods back solemnly. "You did. Thank you," she says, quietly. "And your screaming didn't bother me, really." How can you feel mad at someone that's going through something like that? "I hope someday you can find the peace of mind that would put your dreams to rest." "Thank ya." Neelkan says softly before laying back down again to look at the ceiling. "I hope some day t'.." Somehow he doubts it though. But it's nice to hear that at least one person isn't going to poke fun at him for it. "Ya know, the bandits ne'er said nothin' 'bout it. I think Hakurou told 'em not t'. But I could tell 'at 'ey thought somethin' was wrong with m'. My hair, m' sleepin' habits. The fact 'at I hated women... 'ey ne'er said nothin', but I ne'er had t' share a room 'r tent with anyone." Denn'ryiel stands up and walks back over to the kettle when she hears it whistling. "Why is different wrong, Neelkan?" she asks curiously, without turning around. She locates a couple cups and saucers, and pours out a cup for both of them. Neelkan frowns and furrows his brow a little for a moment, "I ne'er said it was.. I like m' just the way I am, but.. I dunno. It seems either people think I'm 'strange' 'r 'ey want t' change m'." He lets out a small laugh and then adds, "'n 'ose who aren't either end up bein' m' friends." And they're also the ones that suceed in changing him the most. Denn'ryiel nods her head once as she walks back to the bedside, carrying both saucers. "Well, I'm glad to be counted in that last party," she says with a smile as she retakes her seat. "You know, I might be able to talk one of the Yellows into moving a few feather beds into the infirmary," she says, with a wink. That makes Neelkan laugh, and he sits up to get his tea, grinning over as he says, "Well, I hope t' ne'er spend another night in 'at place 'gain, thanks." He waits til he has the tea, remaining seated on the bed and takes a small gulp of it before adding, "But thanks f'r the thought!" Denn'ryiel laughs as well, and nods. "Don't mention it," she says with a smile. "I thought you might be dropp... er, I purchased some better tea leaves this time. I hope it's an improvement." "It's fine, Denn. Wasn't 'at bad last time, really." Better then milk, that's for sure. Neelkan takes another drink before looking over and narrowing his eyes in suspetion. "Thought I might be....?" Denn'ryiel flushes again. "Dropping by again. To be honest, I'm used to the old leaves. I probably would have made do with them if I hadn't thought you might be by again." The confession makes her quite embarrassed. Oh. Neelkan grins a little and nods, gulping down a little more tea from where he sits on the bed before resting it on his knee for a time, "Well, ya were right 'bout m' droppin' in 'gain. I hope ya don't mind 'at I asked the Master Gaidin if it was a'right t' come up 'ere, with yer permission." The man looked at him suspetiously when he did, even if he had no 'bad' intentions. Really... ... well... not any he was taking seriously... Denn'ryiel blinks, and her face goes blank for a moment before she smiles again. So what if the Master Gaidin suspects something like that. Everyone else at the Tower does right now. "No, I don't mind," she says, brushing her hair unconsciously again. "Did you mention you'd need a place to hide from the Reds?" Neelkan laughs. "No, I didn't mention 'at as the reason. I just told 'im 'at yer room was 'ere 'n 'at ya told m' I could drop b' whene'er I wanted t'. He was goin' o'er all 'ese rules I had t' start obeyin'. 'bout not goin' int' the residental areas of the Aes Sedai, 'n Accepted, 'n Novices. 'n stuff." So he asked about the Servants Quarters. Just to be sure. Denn'ryiel finishes up her cup of tea and sets her saucer aside. "Rules... perhaps that's the one thing I like about my position. There are hardly any rules to worry about," she says with a grin as she tugs at her vest. "I was sick to death of them as a Novice and Accepted." "Don't much care f'r rules m'self. But most of 'em don't seem t' apply t' m' bein' friends with ya. Cause yer not a student 'r an Aes Sedai." Neelkan gives a small shrug. That's probably the only reason he got away with the kiss... and the hug... and being in here... "But 'ats a'right. 'least ya don't have t' worry 'bout rules now, right?" He offers a grin, then sips somemore tea. Denn'ryiel nods her head once. Her eyes trail back to the two new pots, and she blushes slightly. "Thank you again for the flowers. It means a lot that you would think about me, other than when we're talking like this." Neelkan looks confused for a moment, his eyebrows raising slightly, "Of course I think of ya. Why wouldn't I?" He has no idea why the fact that he thinks of her at other times would be considered something that would mean a lot. He's just dense when it comes to these things. "But.. yer welcome." Denn'ryiel blinks a bit. "Well... I mean... I don't know. I have a lot of friends here at the Tower." Well maybe that's an exaggeration. "But I don't always think of all of them when I'm passing by a merchant's shop in Tar Valon. About the only people I really find occupying my thoughts recently are you and Verbena. ...And U'saana," she adds, at the end. "Verbena?" Neelkan says with a small nod, understanding that one. U'saana though... he didn't see much of the woman that captured his friend. "A'right. I see what ya mean. But I don't really have all 'at many friends, so... I guess I tend t' think of 'ose 'at I do." Or something... "But ye'h. I do think 'bout ya a lot." Denn'ryiel grins with a small smile. "You have more friends here than you might admit, I think... but thank you for understanding. You... occupy my thoughts far more than the others." She stands up from her chair and leans over to kiss Neelkan upon the forehead. Too bad Neelkan has to worry about the tea cup and saucer in his hands or he might do something else besides just raise his eyebrows and grin. "Well, I'm glad 'en. 'cause I'm sure ya must b' worried 'bout Verbena, 'n whate'er thoughts ya got towards 'at woman can't be good... 'least ya don't have t' worry 'bout m', right?" Denn'ryiel laughs, though softly. Any sentence that mentions the other two women can't produce much mirth in Denn. "I worry about you most of all... worry that I might say something stupid that would chase you off... worry that the next battle I might not see the Trolloc swinging at you," Her cheeks color quite a bit at that. "Oh." Neelkan says with a slight pause, frowning a little, then moves to stand up from the bed, moving around her so that he can set the teacup and saucer on a nearby table next to some flower pot. Then he moves back over towards her and says, "Well, the first one ya don't have t' worry 'bout 'at all. I'm not easy t' chase 'way." He reaches up and cups her elbow, "'n I really can take care of m'self in battles. Not 'at I'm not grateful f'r the help ya gave." The redness in Denn'ryiel's face doesn't fade away, when Neelkan stands up. Her eyes lower to her elbow as she nods to what Neelkan says. "I don't plan on trying to drive you off, and I... didn't mean to imply that you couldn't... I..." Her eyes return to Neelkan's face, and look into his. Giving a small sigh, Neelkan's hand trails up to brush the back of his fingers against her cheek lightly. "Ya need t' stop worrin'." He leans down and presses his lips against her nose first, "But I'm glad ya worry 'bout m'. I worry 'bout ya too." More then he wants to really admit... After that he dips down a little bit more for a kiss. One that would likely count as not exactly 'behaving himself'... Denn'ryiel's eyelids close halfway, as she meets his lips slowly. Unless the Master Gaidin or somene else enters the room, she's not likely to think about Neelkan's instructions. "What... What do you worry about?" she asks, stumbling over her breath. Her right hand raises to his shoulder as she does. Pulling back for breath, Neelkan continues to brush his fingers against her cheek lightly, then pushing some hair behind her ear. His own eyes stay closed for a while as well as he responds, "Things... I worry 'at ya might get captured 'n I won't be 'ere t' get captured with ya. 'n other things..." He leans in to meet her lips again for a few moments longer. Denn'ryiel leans forwards a little more eagerly this time. While 'other things' echo in her mind, she finds it hard to focus on anything other than Neelkan. Her hand timidly reaches to Neelkan's own cheek, to touch it lightly. Finally, after pulling back, she does ask. "Other things?" There's a silent pause after she pulls back between the time that Neelkan responds, "I dunno 'xactly. I guess I'm worried 'at I'll end up hurtin' ya 'r somethin'... 'r 'at ya'll get hurt 'n I won't be 'ere t' help ya... 'ings like 'at." He moves his other hand to rest on her waist, while the other one stays on her cheek, but he doesn't lean down this time. Denn'ryiel brings her other arm around Neelkan to complete the embrace. "You would never hurt me, Neelkan, I know that. Not intentionally. And if I get hurt... I get hurt. Worrying won't prevent that..." she whispers. "It's not hurtin' ya intentionally 'at's got m' worried." Cause Neelkan wouldn't do anything that he knew it would hurt her. He's more worried that he'll do something with meaning to. Or that he won't know it'll hurt her until it's too late. "'n I know.. But I'm still gonna worry." There's another small pause before he sighs and presses his forehead against hers and admits, "I'm also... worried 'at one day I'll dream 'bout ya... 'n somethin' bad'll happen in the dream. I've a'ready had dreams 'bout some of m' friends since comin' 'ere..." Denn'ryiel sighs softly, and rubs her forehead against Neelkan's. "I don't know what to say, other than if it happens, it happens. I think... regardless of where we go, I'll be close enough to you to be in your dreams regardless, if something bad is to occur." She then rolls her head slightly, meeting his nose with hers, so that she can kiss him again. Keeping his eyes closed, Neelkan tightens his arm around her waist, moving his hand up into her hair as he meets the kiss. The kiss lasts a while before he pulls back again and says with a small laugh, "'is... wasn't m' intention 'en I brought ya 'ose flowers... Not 'at I mind..." Because he doesn't. Denn'ryiel blushes a bit at that, but continues to smile. "I... I didn't need to flowers to think of you like this, Neelkan," she answers quietly, but nervously. Her one hand continues to rest upon his shoulder, running across it slowly. "Oh really..." Neelkan says with a chuckle, continuing to run fingers lightly through her hair. He opens his eyes to glance over her, grinning more at the blush, "So what else have ya been thinkin' of 'long 'ese lines, Denn?" Oh, the girl is a furious shade of red now. Unable to blush any farther, she still brings herself to meet Neelkan's eyes. "I haven't been thinking... Not... Not intentionally." Her honesty surprises even herself. "But when I found myself thinking about it..." Her eyes finally turn away in embarrassment. And she looks so cute in red. Neelkan grins, despite the fact that she's all embarassed, then moves his hand down from her hair and pushes her head to face him again, "Don't be embarassed. I mean... I don't mind ya thinkin' 'bout m' like 'at.." Though he surely does mind most any other woman in the world thinking of him like... what he /thinks/ she means at least... Denn'ryiel nods her head weakly, and gives a small smile. "I'm... not certain I can honor that request... Do you think about me?" comes the sudden response. Turnabout is fair play, after all. Curiousity lights her eyes as she awaits an answer. True. It is fair. Neelkan wrinkles his nose slightly and glances away for a moment, looking towards the pots with the flowers that he brought for her. Perhaps in embarassment. When he looks back he responds with a grin, "I think 'bout ya, ye'h." Denn'ryiel grins a little more to that answer, and her head turns to see what Neelkan was looking at. She spots the flowers and looks back, with apprieciation in her eyes. "I'm... glad," she responds, before leaning forward once more. "Yer glad?" Neelkan responds with a little surprise, then chuckles and kisses her nose gently. "Well, it's the truth." He lets out a small sigh, then pulls back a little, stepping away, "But I think 'at.. I should finish m' tea 'fore it gets too cold." And he feels he should stop before he... does something he'd get in trouble for. Denn'ryiel sighs also, and nods, understanding. She turns away and walks towards one of the chairs. "I was acting like a Saferi..." she mumble, mostly to herself. Taking up his tea and sipping on it, Neelkan finds it already too cold for his tastes and puts it back down, turning and catching the mumble. "Denn... Don't worry 'bout 'at. I mean.. I'd really... really like t'..." Um... He may have been a bandit, but he won't talk that crude unless he's really drunk, so he just shrugs and adds, "I just don't want t' get kicked outta 'ere, cause 'en I wouldn't b' able t' stay... 'ere..." Denn'ryiel nods her head once, turning back towards him. "I know... believe me, I don't want to jeopardize your position either." She sighs and tugs her vest again without realizing it. How many years of training does Neelkan have before him? Hopefully not that many... Neelkan's absolutely convinced he could pass for a warder now. But he really needs the ettiqute classes and things of the like. "Though honestly, I'm not really all /'at/ worried 'bout gettin' int' trouble. I mean e'en if the Gaidin throw m' out, I could request 'at Kaomi let m' stay. She seems t' like m'... 'n Wyn told m' 'at the Sedai might b' able t' help m' with m' Dreamin'." Denn'ryiel nods her head as she walks back towards Neelkan. "Either way... I wouldn't want you to do anything you were uncomfortable doing," she says, before glancing at his tea. "Do you want me to warm that back up for you?" she asks, desperately in need of something off topic to say. "Sure." Neelkan says, taking up the tea and handing it towards her. "'n I'm not uncomfortable really. I'm more worried 'bout ya. Sure, ya may be more 'en twice m' age, but ya seem more 'en uncomfortable sometimes 'en I'm 'round." He grins, not looking uncomfortable at admiting she's old enough to be his mother... Denn'ryiel puts her hand up when the tea is pushed towards her. She looks at the liquid, and concentration is evident in her eyes. Slowly the porcelain cup begins to feel warmer. "I'm sorry... I... I've just never worn my heart on my sleeve before," she says, with a little mild embarrassment. "I'm fine, really." Neelkan looks down at the tea cup and then nods, understanding what she is doing after a moment. He waits until she appears done before sipping on it, nodding. "'at's a helpful thing t' be able t' do." But then he chuckles. "Yer not the only one. I haven't been much f'r 'heart on sleeve' stuff 'fore either. Most m'... 'perience with 'is stuff came from taverns," And tavern girls... with him under the influence of a lot of ale... "'n 'ey didn't 'xactly prepare m' f'r... 'is..." Denn'ryiel blushes. She's been in a few taverns before, fortunately most of them were quite respectable. She begins to giggle a bit, realizing how similar they both are. "I guess we'll have to overcome our inexperience together," she says with a smile. Respectable? ... Unfortunately, Neelkan probably hadn't seen a respectable tavern until he came to Tar Valon. The bandits didn't go to respectable taverns. They went to cheap ones. With lots of fighting, bad ale, and the others went for the women. Of course this young man only paid attention to the women after lots and lots of ale... "I.. guess we'll have t', ye'h." He gulps down somemore tea, finishing off the cup before lowering it and putting it aside on the table again. Denn'ryiel smiles and walks back over to where the tea kettle has been kept warm. "How long will it be before anyone notices that you're gone?" she asks, walking back to replenish Neelkan's tea. "I prolly got a lil' while 'fore 'ey notice. No more 'en an hour though..." Neelkan puts a hand over the cup and shakes his head, "No more. It was good, just not all 'at thirsty anymore." He takes his hand back and looks around the room, then grins and says, "I think I'm gonna enjoy 'at bed of yers while I can." He brushes by, putting a hand on her arm as he goes, then flops back onto the feather bed again, this time laying with just his feet sticking off. Denn'ryiel laughs as he bounces upon her bed, and grins at him. She walks back to put the kettle away, before turning. "I hope it doesn't end up spoiling you," she says with a chuckle. Laying in the bed, Neelkan bends his arm to rest his head in his hands as he looks up at the ceiling and chuckles, "Who me? Get spoiled? Ne'er." He lifts his head up a little just long enough to wink in her direction. Denn'ryiel chuckles and walks back to the bed, sitting down upon the other end. "Uh-huh..." she says, with a small grin for the wink. "I guess we'll find out when we see servants hauling feather beds into the servant's quarters." Neelkan peeks over and grins lightly, "I dunno if 'at'll happen, but I don't really mind all 'at much if ya spoil m'." If she does. Now other people he might get a little... awkward with. "But ya might want not t'." Denn'ryiel smiles a little bit in surprise, and turns on the bed to face him. "Why wouldn't I want to?" she asks, curiously, as she folds her legs beneath her indian-style. "Because ya seem t' think ya act like a 'Saferi' 'en all yer doin' is kissin' m', 'n I started it e'en." Neelkan bites his lower lip for a second and gets a mischevious thought, but stops himself and looks up at the ceiling again, "I'm almost tempted t' fall 'sleep f'r a lil' while. One of the Gaidin wore m' out runnin' laps 'n stuff." Denn'ryiel blinks. "Oh... I thought you meant me letting you nap on my bed." Obviously, she can be quite obtuse at times. "I, well, if you feel like sleeping I understand," she finally says, sounding a bit depressed. Peeking back over, Neelkan doesn't seem to understand why she sounds so depressed, which is appropriate, because he doesn't. He frowns for a moment, then rolls on his side and reaches out to touch her knee, "'ey, Denn? What's wrong?" What did he do wrong this time...? Denn'ryiel blushes, and looks down at Neelkan. "I'm... I'm sorry. I guess... I wouldn't mind spoiling you," she says, trying not to sound uncomfortable. In fact, she isn't. Just incredibly nervous. Sigh. Neelkan frowns a little, then reaches and grabs onto Denn's hand with his own, his hands still healing from his pounding on the wall in the prison. "Don't be sorry, just..." He tugs on her arm lightly. "Lay down 'ere with m' f'r a bit." Denn'ryiel nods her head, though a troubled look comes to her face when she sees the sigh. The word 'Saferi' reappears in her mind. Still, she unfolds her legs and lays down, next to the trainee. "Alright," she says quietly, adjusting her head so that she can look at Neelkan. Pulling his arm around again, Neelkan tries to tug her a little bit closer, wanting to put his arm around her. "Denn, I.. I really do like ya. Just... don't worry 'bout things like 'is. A'right? I just want t' lay 'ere with ya, nothin' else, so don't worry..." Denn'ryiel nods her head, and smiles a little bit more. "Alright," she says, as the nervousness fades away. "I'd like that too," she responds, without stuttering. She moves a little closer, so that she is within reach.
