06/21/2000 Infirmary, White Tower, Tar Valon Square in shape, this room is most often abuzz with activity. It contains the normal implements of a teaching infirmary, in fact, it is extremely well stocked with all manner of things: cots, jars, bottles, syringes, bandages, cloths, cabinets, shelves, books and tables along with plenty of hot water. The air has that sterile smell associated with the constant use of redwort, tinged with the unpleasant prickle of witchhazel. While most of the Healing is done via the One Power at the Tower, there are many minor medical situations that are dealt with the old fashioned way. There are several areas curtained off, for patients' privacy as well as for instructional usages. This is a teaching infirmary for the Yellow Ajah, after all. Beds in cheerful colors are lined up in neat rows, providing a comfortable place to sleep after a Healer's tender ministrations. Windows are kept wide open to all for light and fresh air. Heading into the infirmary just for a short while before her meeting with Wynt, Espi heads directly over to those Yellows still toiling over the cook pots. "You should be resting. We have plenty of the cure now. You need to rest or the truely sick ones will not have the benefits of your aid." She smiles, shaking her head slowly as she picks one of the baskets with the precious red crystals in them. She heads away from the Yellows who look at her funny a moment before nodding to each other. Yes, she is probably right since most of them can barely stand as it is. Espi glances to the cots where her friends lay and smiles. Soon..they all will be completely well again. But for now, time for another crystal. Sunan stirs on his bed, and slowly awakens, licking his lips. He doesn't loolok like a morning person. (repose) Sunan sits up, noting Espiria. "Espiria!" He shouts. "What happened?" Evidently his newfound sanity has been noticed. He hasn't been lucid for a long while. Yaaaaaaaawn! For once, Neelkan wakes up without bolting upwards, or screaming, or trying to beat up whoever happens to have slapped him to wake him. He just yawns loudly and stretches a little. It feels good to be ... well... not completely sick anymore. He pushes himself up in the bed and scratches at his hair a little bit, yawning again. He actually slept halfway decent. Some weird dreams, but nothing... too awful. Sunan sits up in his bed, noting Neelkan with a nod. Then he sees Espiria. "Espiria!" He shouts in a loudly, in a monotone. "What happened?" Evidently his newfound sanity has been noticed. He hasn't been lucid for a long while. Espiria heads over to Sunan first of all as she smiles. her hand does raise though as if to motion him to be just alittle quieter. "The cure's been found, Sunan. While you were unconscious last night, we gave you the first dose of it." She smiles, gripping the basket tightly with it's precious load. Her hand reaches in and she takes one of the crystals, handing it out to Sunan. "Here's your next dose. Put it under your tounge and let it dissolve." Stilly rubbing at his hair, Neelkan stretches a few more times and... Light, does he feel better. He tries to call out to one of the Yellows who is scurrying by, "Any chance I could leave 'ere t'day? .......... Come on, Light. 'least round m' up some pants 'r somethin'?" Hellooooooo? Anyone listening? "I feel just fine!" ... Geez. Sunan takes the last dose with ginger care, placing it under his tongue with a look of fear. He then speaks nasally to Espiria, "Dat's great!" He grins widely at Neelkan. Denn'ryiel enters the infirmary, lugging up a load of the plants in her arms. She sets them down on the nearest table, and then leans against it to support herself while she regains her breath. She turns while exhausted, and flashes a weak smile to everyone else in the room. Espiria chuckles softly, tipping her head to one side. "You'll need at least one more dose before you can leave. And then you'll have to work on building your strength back up again." She smiles, widening her eyes as she glances over to Neel with a grin, "Oh...Neel. Try to relax You need at least 1 more dose after this one before you can leave." She smiles, nodding to Denn as she walks in. Grumbling under his breath, it's very obviously that Neelkan wants to leave right now, but he takes another dose anyway and doesn't complain further at the moment. At the entrance of his friend and waves lightly while he waits for whatever this thing is to go down. Though he's still grumbling. Sunan lets the crystal dissolve under his tongue, "So Neelkan are you bothered by the fact you're in a gown and the Yellows might have taken it off to salve you?" He seems to think it amusing. A giggle at Sunan's joke should betray Denn's presense, if she hasn't been revealed already. "It's good to see your head is working properly again, Sunan," she says with a smile. Gaaaaasp! Neelkan just stares at Sunan. Then the stare turns into a full out glare. Bloody brat! "Ya need t' learn when t' not ask questions!" He yells back, now that the crystal seems to be gone. Then he glances towards the giggle as if to break into a yell at whichever woman dared to laugh at his expense. Then he sees it's Denn and his glare fades. "'ey Denn!" Sunan blinks and looks down to his amulet, touching it to make sure it's there before he seems to understand. Then, he waves to Denn, but in a highy exaggerated motion, on he that jerks his upper arm left and right as he does so. "Hello Denn how are you?" He asks. Denn'ryiel grins weakly, and tries not to put such a visible effort into breathing. "I'm alright. A bit tired," she says with a smile. "Neel, it looks like I owe you an ale," she then says, with a wider grin. "Blood 'n ashes! Ye'h! I wouldn't miss it f'r nothin'." Neelkan actually bounces a little in his bed as he says that, as he is rather excited about the idea of getting out of here and to a nice tavern. Which he has greatly missed. He adds on the end though, mode lightened a little, "Though, prolly gonna have t' wait a while. Espi said I need 'nother dose f'r I can go." Sunan turns to Neelkan, and inquires, once again forgetting punctuation, "Neelkan why would you want to drink something that will dull your senses and make you sick?" He seems very confused. Denn'ryiel chuckles and nods. "Well, I'm afraid Espiria hasn't shown me the correct way to dispense the medicine, so you're going to have to wait a little bit. But whenever you're free, I'll be happy to take you." Sighing softly, Neelkan just gives the answer to Sunan this time, "'cuz I like 'at way, kay? It's just somthin' t' drink, 'n it's a lot bloody better 'en water!" Then he waves a hand slightly at Denn, "I think I gotta wait a while 'fore I can take 'nother dose, so prolly won't be outta 'ere 'til tomorrow." Much to his displeasure. Espiria heads back into the infirmary, lugging a rather large bag of sugar. She smiles at everyone, dropping it by the prep table for more of the cure and picks up her backet of crystals once more. She heard the comment about Neel not thinking he is getting another dose so soon and she chuckles. "Well actually Neel. You get another right now. Just like Sunan. That is..if you haven't reieved one already today?" Sunan looks even more confused. "Why do you like it that way that does't make any sense and water's good fro you ale makes you sick." Again, no punctruation, as Sunan often speaks. Again, sighing rather loudly and grumbling a few times, Neelkan snaps at Sunan a little, "I don't flamin' like water. Ale's what 'ey a'ways used t' drink 'round where I stayed f'r the last couple 'a years so I grew used t' it. 'sides. I just like it, a'right?" Now please, before he gets out of this bed and beats the poor young boy up. No more questions. Then he shakes his head at Espi, "I got one just lil' while 'go." Espiria ahhs softly, taking the basket back to the table and gently sitting it down. "That's good though. That means one more and you'll be able to leave." She turns and smiles at Neel, sighing softly as she glances between the both of you. "Please...the both of you. Just try to relax a bit longer and not fight, alright?" She sighs, glancing at you both again. "I..know it's hard to be in here when you feel so much better, but just alittle while longer and you'll be feeling the sun..and fresh air again. Try not to fight..alright?" Sunan looks at Espiria, and tells her, "We're not fighting." Then, to Neelkan. "But why do you drink it ale makes you sick and throw up the next morning, and you act funny that night and you are slower your senses are deaded." He insists. Growl. Growl. Growl. Neelkan narrows his eyes evilly at the boy and starts to push himself up. He's gonna kill him. He's gonna........ no.... no... He pushes himself back down with a grumble, then looks at Espi, "Can ya 'least round m' up some normal clothes 'r somethin' f'r m'?" Espiria sighs at Sunan softly, "Please...for the time being would you not disturb the other patients with so many questions? They are trying to rest and tempers are very short at the moment. Just because your mind moves with constant questioning of everything..doesn't mean that every else's does. Is that understood?" She glances back over to Neel and nods, moving over to a cabinet to one side of the room. She pulls out some suitable clothing(Neel's old things) and brings them back over to him. "Here you are, Neel. They've been washed completely so that there is no traces of the illness left behind." Sunan blinks, and stares at Espiria, "What did I do? I just had one question." "'n I gave ya yer bloody answer..." Neelkan grumbles, then takes the clothes with excitement and quickly closes the curtain around his bed. He's getting out of those.... DRESS as quickly as possible now that he has real clothes in his possession. So the sound of someone getting clothes on can be heard. What he wouldn't give to have his own room. With a door. And walls. Espiria chuckles, "Yes. You asked a question, but you poked and prodded, Neel for the answer to that question instead of taking what he said first of all for that answer. You must learn not to be so...pushy. It's very rude." She shakes her head and calls thru the curtain to Neel. "I'm having to leave now, Neel. I have a meeting I need to attend to with Wyntere Sedai, but I'll drop by later to chat if you'd like." She glances over to Sunan, sighing before she turns to head out of the infirmary. She doesn't really need an answer from Neel, since she knows it's not like he's really going anywhere that fast. Sunan calls into the curtain, "But he doesn't mind. You doidn't think it was rude, did you?" He has his face close to the curtain now... There's a pause in sounds of someone dressing and Neelkan responds shortly, "Ya'h I found ya rude!" Sunan seems very surprised, if Neelkan could see him. He kicks his legs over the side of the bed hovering by the curatin even more so than before. "How come?" He asks, confused. The sound of more dressing happens, all the while speaking, "Cuz yer a'ways askin' bloody questions 'bout twenty flamin' times. I told ya the first couple'a times why I like ale. I don't care 'at it dulls m' senses 'r whate'er. 'n the sickness isn't 'at bad if ya don't drink too much. So don't go knockin' it 'til ya try it, 'kay?" then Neelkan seems to finish and settle down. Sunan opens the curtain partway and shoves his head in, a few inmches from Nelkan's face. "It does? Mother Trici never mentioned that!" Eeek! Neelkan almost falls backwards as he suddenly has someone in his face. "D'ya have t' do 'at! 'n I don't know no Mother Trici. Ya should ne'er take a woman's word f'r nothin'. Find out f'r yerself. Don't a'ways go 'round askin', cause no matter what people'll only give ya 'eir view on 'ings 'n ya need t' learn yer own!" Sunan shakes his head, "Hey! Mother Trici is a great healer and she knows a lot more about medicine than you do!" He seems a bit offended. "Anyway, I guess it deadens the pain..." "Ye'h, ye'h. Whate'er. She's still a woman." Neelkan lays down and motions with his hand, "No go back t' yer own bed. I'm gonna try t' sleep 'gain." Yes, he just woke up, but he probably hadn't slept all that long really.
