06/04/2000 Infirmary, White Tower, Tar Valon Square in shape, this room is most often abuzz with activity. It contains the normal implements of a teaching infirmary, in fact, it is extremely well stocked with all manner of things: cots, jars, bottles, syringes, bandages, cloths, cabinets, shelves, books and tables along with plenty of hot water. The air has that sterile smell associated with the constant use of redwort, tinged with the unpleasant prickle of witchhazel. While most of the Healing is done via the One Power at the Tower, there are many minor medical situations that are dealt with the old fashioned way. There are several areas curtained off, for patients' privacy as well as for instructional usages. This is a teaching infirmary for the Yellow Ajah, after all. Beds in cheerful colors are lined up in neat rows, providing a comfortable place to sleep after a Healer's tender ministrations. Windows are kept wide open to all for light and fresh air. Sunan shakes his head, "I don't want to rest. I feel like I'm in a dram. If I let go I'll fall back into it and I don'ty know if I'll ever be aware again. I'm struggling not to fall back into that.. delirium. I want to be lucid, I don't want to start forgetting and slip into that mindlessness." Varcel stirs a bit, wishing he'd be so fortunate. "I know 'xactly how ya feel..." comes a soft murmur from the bed near Sunan. When did Neelkan wake up? Or was he just laying there pretending to sleep like he sometimes does... Either way, he's obviously not asleep if he's talking a little. Well, either he's awake, or he's talking in his sleep. Espiria heads into the infirmary, planning to check on her friends in between classes. She widens her eyes a bit though as she sees quite a few either up in some way or visiting as well. She smiles, bobing a curtsey before heading over to the beds. Denn'ryiel nods her head once. "I'll wake you up if I see you start to slip, Sunan." Hearing the other voice, she turns and smiles to see Neelkan... well, maybe not awake. "Good afternoon, Neel," she says, quietly. Varcel's gaze is promptly drawn to Espiria once he's aware of her presence. Should she look his way, he'll toss her a smile. Vorsha pushes another hand off of her. Really, she must watch how she flirts with the sick people. Redd opens his eyes rather slowly. Being as far along as he is, everything is a struggle, though he refuses to let anyone feel sorry for him or take too much care of him... well, that of course, excludes Espi. Espiria is nearly by the beds now and her eyes glance at each person in turn, carefully skirting Sunan's bed in the event he's still not wearing anything. She blushes brightly, recalling the other day when he was..umm..indesposed. She heaves a gentle sigh, shaking her head and hoping that the cure will be found soon. Please..let it be found soon. Her eyes fall on Varcel and she smiles softly for a moment, head tipping to one side to see if he is awake as yet. Varcel's smile and quick wink do indeed suggest he's awake. Either that or sleepflirting. Sunan sighs and mutters something about futility. Then, "Denn'ryiel, could you get me some clothes?" After a few moments of laying there a little longer, Neelkan finally sits himself up and rubs at the back of his neck. He isn't one to lay down if he's not asleep or pretending to be asleep, no matter how weak he might be. His eyes are still closed while he rubs at the side of his neck then... Hehehe. He laughs at the voice asking for clothes and says in a joking voice, "Next time don't take 'em all off." Then finally he adds on, "'ey, Denn." as he peeks one eye open and looks around. Denn'ryiel turns as she is addressed and nods. "Sure... just a moment, Sunan." She stands up and goes to a nearby footlocker, where the clothes of each trainee are stored. She then hands it towards Sunan, hoping he'll just reach out a hand for them. Redd starts coughing quietly, as quickly as he can covering his face with the blanket to hide the fact that he is coughing. As he does so, it worsens so that the blanket is completely useless at hiding that simple fact. Sunan coughs as he takes the offered clothes, and puts them on behind the current. When he emerges 5 minutes later, he has his medallion on as well, and is in the process of tying up the last laces on his shirt, with difficulty. He gives another cough as he stands, and looks over to Redd, concerned. "Are you okay? Signal by raising a hand." His medallion would be leaning over him were it not in his shirt. Espiria sighs softly, shaking her head with a smirk crossing her lip. She tips her gaze from Varcel and over to Neel this time, chuckling as she sees him trying to get up. "Hey now..you should be resting, Neel. Where do you think you're off to?" Varcel grins, wriggling up to lean against the headboard, using the pillow as a cushion. Even this is a strain for him, but hey, it's worth it. Denn'ryiel walks back towards Neelkan's cot, since Redd's is getting crowded. "Do any of you need another batch of medicine?" she asks. "Ow. Ow. Ow. Blood 'n ashes... if I gotta spend 'nother flamin' day in this bed..." comes a soft whine from Neelkan as he continues to rub at his poor neck. Looks like someone didn't lay right last night... Then finally he lowers his head with a sigh and looks over at Espi. "I feel like I'm locked in 'ere 'gain. It ain't fair... But I'm not off t' anywhere. I'm just sittin' up... Shesh." He looks away and grumbles under his breath, "Women." Then to Denn's question on the medicine he nods slightly, "Ye'h. Might as well. I actually got a decent taste in m' mouth right now. Can't have that..." Someone's in a bad mood this morning... At first, Redd just seems to cough, then a slow hand raises to signify he /thinks/ he is OK, then rolls over to look away from Sunan. /That/ is when the coughing fit increases, three-fold. It launches his head forward, hunched over on his side. Only thing is, he doesn't have that much room on that side of the bed, as it was closer to Neelkan, so he could talk to him (he was the last person he talked to, after all) so he falls out of the bed, face-first into the ground. He coughs even as he is on the ground. Espiria hears the loud thump on the floor and jerks to look in the direction of the sound. She widens her eyes a bit more seeing it was Red impacting with the marble flooring. She away from Neels' side in a moment and over by Redd, "Oh..Redd. Come on now...Let me help you back into bed so we can get that coughing back under control." Denn'ryiel tries to ignore Neelkan's language... this time. "I'll see if they have any better tasting juice," she says. At the sound of Redd hitting the floor, she turns around and hurries over. "Did you hurt anything Redd?" she asks, as she tries to help him up. Sunan gasps, and tried to help Redd up as Espiria arrives. He acts silently. No fair. This whole thing is just... Grrrr. Neelkan is about to start yelling any minute when all of a sudden there's a thump and Redd plants his face on the floor. White-streaked red hair which used to be so poofy and vibrant is just laying around his head as he leans over to get a look at Redd on the floor. He'd rush over to the boy if it wouldn't result a few ways he would rather them not. One, a Yellow would likely yell at him for getting out of bed. (Women.) Two, he might overexert himself and plant his OWN face on the ground. And last, he would have to walk around in the bloody dress-like infirmary robe thing these silly women have him in. Varcel blinks a bit, as Redd gets to know the floor so intimately. Doesn't look very comfortable. Redd attempts to push the helping hands away. Even Espi's, which is a big surprise as he doesn't fight her at all. He attempts to stand, which doesn't get him past placing his hands on the floor to push up. Espiria frowns gently, shaking her head. "Red...come on now. Stop that..Let me help you back into bed." She bites her lower lip, sighing softly as she continues to try to grab hold of Redd's arms. Somehow she's got to get him back into bed. One way..or another at least. She glances around to the other, worry shining brightly in her eyes before glancing back to him. Well, at least he didn't break anything.
