Job Description

The University of Dubuque (UD) is searching for a proven leader to head its recently re-established, innovative BSN Nursing Program. Our 21st century curriculum responds directly to the 2001 and 2003 Institute of Medicine documents, Building a Safer Health System and Health Professions Education: A Bridge to Quality. Our program is housed in the new UD Science Center and includes a state of the art simulation suite. The program has earned full accreditation from CCNE and the Iowa Board of Nursing. The Head of the Department of Nursing is responsible for articulating and implementing the mission and vision of the university and the program to all stakeholders. Functions include overall management, continued accreditation, quality control, development of nursing curricula, student recruitement, and maintaining relationships with the Nursing Advisory Board, clinical affiliations, and other community agencies.

 

The successful candidate will have a doctorate in nursing, current RN licensure, and a minimum of three years of administrative/management experience in a clinical or eductional setting and three years of teaching experience. She or he will demonstrate effective leadership and communication skills and support for the UD mission.

 

The city of Dubuque occupies bluffs above the Mississippi River where Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois meet.
